Piece of cake As long as you don't kill those 3 little shits :)
I just noticed, THIS
What am I talking about?
Hide’s lying habit hello?
So I still don’t think Kaneki completely ate him
Tokyo ghoul actually ruins me with how many things are only implied and never truly stated. That and the parallels that tell you what the text alone cannot. Can I talk about the Anteiku Raid? Because in light of current chapters in :re, I really REALLY want to.
“I had a thought...for whom, and with what feelings, did the manager open up his shop? For someone who loved humans so much...this is...did you know? There is a cup stored carefully in the back of the cupboard. It’s a small antique-style coffee cup. I never saw it being used...even once. He was definitely waiting...always. Always.” “In the end, my wish never came true.” Kaneki understands Yoshimura’s loneliness, the futility of his actions, and that even in the end none of this was what Yoshimura wanted. Kaneki’s participation in the Anteiku raid wasn’t only driven by his loyalty, his martyr-complex, or his need to fight until the end. It was also produced by his bone-deep empathy for Yoshimura’s last stand. He couldn’t bear the idea of letting Yoshimura die without ever achieving his goal. He couldn’t leave him, knowing that he was contributing to his loneliness, knowing that his entire life had been ruled by it. He probably couldn’t stand it because it reminded him of himself. The insight this gives us into Ken’s still-beating desire to not die just yet, to not be finished just yet, to defeat his demons, is astounding. That will be important to the end of this. It’s odd for me to say this, because the Anteiku raid ended in the worst possible way, but in the end Kaneki’s participation did one thing. It’s actually this one thing that makes me believe so strongly that :re will be an epic.
Kaneki achieved his goal: Yoshimura didn’t die. He also achieved Yoshimura’s goal (in the worst way)...he finally met his daughter. Though tragedies often allow characters to achieve their goals only to have it destroy them, the ending of Tokyo Ghoul didn’t let us see that destruction. Even though Yoshimura was trapped in a specimen tube and Kaneki had been defeated, the reader wasn’t placed face to face with their misery. We see Eto greet Yoshimura with an eerie glow to her eyes, but we don’t see his reaction. Similarly, with Kaneki’s downfall, he doesn’t hear that he failed. He isn’t told that Yoshimura was defeated, dead, or worse. This means that they haven’t lost everything yet. It means that they have achieved something. Not everything was futile - there is still room to continue, still hope to be had, and a story left to be spun out of the darkness. Now that Shuu is facing down the same demons, I wonder what stories he’ll have to tell?
“23 ward’s ghoul shelter,
owl is included in it.
attack teams are every Special Class’ member.
--- cannot fight...
..........”
“... Marude-san... Committing suicide is no good.” -Hide, when given his testament prior to Anteiku Raid
Seasons DIE one after another
Apparently during the Anteiku raid, they were all presumed dead
But Seasons do come back one after another
They're going to have hide just randomly in the sewers then with no backstory huh
Studio Pierrot what possessed you to want to ruin such a great manga? Were you pissed off at Ishida-sensei? It has to have been personal.
