Hey, how are you? I have a question. My neighbor who's a psychic told me about doing readings on the internet. She told me about doing them online and getting paid for my services. I already do them for free for friends and family (which is a mess sometimes). So my question to you and anyone else who does readings here(online) how do you figure out the right price(s) to charge for and what's the experience like also as a black witch (psychic) online. Thanks in advance.
I made a bit of a checklist of just general pointers one should think about if they want to do online readings specifically for tumblr if you want to check that out.
The rest will be under the cut cause I talk a lot lol...
Honestly, to find out the right prices to charge, you have to look around. See what others are charging on here. See what people pay for. See what the “popular” readers are doing vs. what the “non-popular” readers are doing. While you look around, think about how these prices make you feel. Does a 5 card reading need to be 5 dollars to you? Or should it be more or less? I always felt like every tarot reader should charge at the very least a dollar per card if they’re charging per card. And instead of going to every reader and telling them that, I just opened up my own readings. If you think $0.50 is enough per card, then charge that.
Next, figure out if you want to charge per card or per minute. Eventually I will be doing readings via FaceTime, but for now, I’m comfortable with just doing per card and typing out everything. If you want to do readings face to face with someone you have to then think about where you’re going to do them, when you’re going to do them, creating an email and account for just your readings if you want things to be separate, how long these reading will last and if you’ll have options on durations. Most people charge a $1 a minute, others $2 if their durations are fairly short.
And lastly, just do it. If you’re still not sure what to charge yourself, put something random and see if someone bites. Wait about and month or 2 and see how many people took the bait. If a good deal of people did, then you might want to raise your price a little bit. If not, it might be time to lower prices. It’s all about trial and error in this realm of money.
My experience being a black reader has been positive so far. Of course, there are the moments that give me headaches like when people rush me, or the times where I feel like I have to baby people. Not through the reading but through the process of getting the reading. It’s one thing if you’ve read my guidelines and you still have questions. Its another (annoying) thing if you completely ignore my links provided and ask me questions I answer through those links.
But I’ve had way more positive moments that out weight the negative ones. And I appreciate everyone in the community, black and non-black, who have supported me. Whether they bought a reading or just reblogged my little ads. (I work hard on them things do thank yall for rebloggin’ them haha)
Another thing I’ve noticed being black and a reader is that the black witch community, not just the black reader community, is hella tight. So, you’re going to make a friend or 2 around here. And if you ever want to vent or talk about being black and reader, we will all listen to you and probably agree with you. Support is a beautiful thing and I’m thankful this community isn’t stingy with it. 😊
So tell me why I just found out that the Underworld movie franchise was co-created and written by a black man and the Final Destination franchise was too.
