Matt smith is not hot enough for yall to be defending Daemon the way you do
And if I said Daemon is what fans wish Aegon was, what then?
Cause there is an abusive, sleazy, predatory, pedophilic, incestuous, cruel man in this series but his name is Daemon Targaryen and he’s Team Black.
I really like the way Rhaenyra turns around to look at Jace in the new trailer when Daemon tells her THEIR kids are going to rule her new empire forever.
It really makes you wonder: does this dialogue take place before or after Jace’s death in the Gullet?
Is this Jace overhearing his stepfather talking about how his younger legitimate siblings are going to replace him while his mother listens silently?
Or is this Rhaenyra’s guilty conscience projecting her firstborn’s image in front of her because she feels like she’s betraying him? Putting him aside as she feared her father would one day?
Is he even alive at all when this happens? Maybe it’s not guilt that creates this hallucination, but regret? Regret that in her pursuit of power she unknowingly orchestrated her son’s death, who was everything she wanted to protect in the first place?
I have seen quite often that many people consider young Alicent to be too sensitive and just an envious/jealous girl. Well...
Daemon almost killed Alicent's brother at the tourney, (he was much younger than him). Gwayne was so badly wounded that even the maester had to personally visit Otto and warn him that his son will live.
Otto and Daemon's relationship has always been tense. Daemon allows himself to insult the memory of Otto's dead wife, in front of EVERYONE at the council.. And I remind you, mother's death is the same trauma for Alicent as for everyone's beloved Rhaenyra whom everyone loves to justify her behavior with the death of her mother. But no one talks about Alicent, even tho she also lost her mother. Alicent loved her very much and she still misses her, praying every day at the sept. Do you think she doesn't know what kind of relationship her father has with Daemon? She knows what a terrible person Daemon is, what frightening violence he is capable of, but she is silent and smiles because he is a prince, he is the brother of the king, and uncle of her best friend. She always has to be silent, polite and patient, just like her father.
Imagine what Alicent felt when she found out that Rhaenyra had slept with a man like Daemon? Betrayal. No, it's not just envy that her "friend" has privileges, it'sdisappointment. To make matters worse, Rhaenyra lied to Alicent, she SWEARS BY HER MOTHER'S GRAVE AND DEATH that she IS TELLING THE TRUTH. Mother. Little Alicent values her words, she values the memory of her mother, she is still grieving, and she believes Rhaenyra.
She even refuses to believe her own father, the closest and dearest person in her life. And for what? Eventually she becomes the reason why her father is kicked out of the Red Keep in disgrace, depriving the status of the king's right hand. She defended Rhaenyra's honor, she justified her, and was left absolutely alone again. No mother, no father.
She feels the bitterness and pain of loneliness in the court, and then this feeling doubles because what she did turns out to be a huge mistake. Her best friend is a liar. From Alicent's perspective, her best friend hooked up with a man who had been at enmity with her father all her life, almost killed her brother, and after Rhaenyra smiles at her as if nothing had happened, and shamelessly scatters words, the consequence of which is the departure of her father.
But yeah, for some stupid reason of course "she's just jealous girl" and nothing more.
Reina Helaena Targaryen
i think pdfile Daemon fans get cocky because GRRM said that he is his favourit Targaryen so they think them superior for stanning him. They even hate Jon Snow (show!) to favour daemon LOL But the rational that he is author fav thus he must be best can be applied to Tyrion as well.
Tyrion is GRRMs fav character in whole ASoiAF but this does not make Tyrion(book!) good. Imagine all Tyrion fans feeling ultra smug like they could conqueror the world because Tyrion is GRRMs fav and he may survive till the end💀💀
also Tyrion being a fave dont mean the other characters cannot be liked or be morally grey. Tyrion and Daemon do not have trademark on being the only grey characters to be stanned in a saga like ASoiaF.
I had never thought about it from that perspective, and now that you mention it, I've been thinking: it really makes sense. A while ago, many people used to say he had stated Daemon was his favorite character, not his favorite Targaryen. If you look around, you can still find people posting that image with a huge picture of Daemon and a tiny one of Tyrion.
I'd also like to add something: people always exaggerate everything involving Daemon. Martin says he is a gray character, and people interpret it as if he were the ultimate gray character in Fire & Blood. He is a good warrior, so they treat him like the greatest warrior ever, even though he doesn't even make the top 10. I think this really fuels the arrogance of his fanbase.
Do the Daemon stans realize the he's not a badass? He's a loser and an abuser who murdered his own wife with a rock. He deserves everything that happens in Harrehall and then some. That's the point of those scenes. He sucks, he's a sick, sick man and if you're mad because they're "ruining his character" you're idolizing a deadbeat dad and a wife beater.
watching daemyra shippers & daemon stans crying screaming throwing up bcs they can't believe a toddler killer, ex wife brutal murderer, groomer, careless father and overall psychopath would be an abusive man
