The idea that Apple is single handedly trying to institute a Corprocratic Version of an internet era Hayes Code is just disturbing and further evidence that if corporations are to have the powers that might be reserved to government that they must be taxed and regulated more. The internet should be something of the public domain that, if regulated, must be done though institutions that, ideally, represent the public, the people, at large, i.e.: governments, and not corporations/businesses whose remit is to only represent themselves and their financial interests which often do not match up with the interests of the public at large. I have always had a special disdain and distrust of Apple, especially when they dominated the MP3 market with their iPods choking out their competitors, and this further restricting of content along with their actions that contributed to the Great Tumblr Purge of December 17, 2018, is further evidence that they should be not trusted.
I think the lesson here, is that there is never any reason ever to buy an Iphone.
Ever.
Mac is a shit IOS too.
Hereās the way Iāve always seen Appleās products.
If a phone costs more than a brand new games console, then itās too expensive.
If I can buy an Xbox One, a PlayStation 4 and a Nintendo Switch for less than a brand new iPhone, then iPhones are overpriced. No smart phone is actually worth that much.
And no, thatās not an exaggeration.
The iPhone XR is, at this time of writing, Ā£749. It costs less if you have an older iPhone to trade in, but obviously I donāt so letās just ignore that.
Meanwhile, at GAME I can purchase an Xbox One S for £198, a PlayStation 4 (with Days Gone & Elder Scrolls Online) for £230, and a Nintendo Switch for £260, which totals up to £688.
So, one again, I will reiterate. If it costs me less to purchase all three major game consoles, than it does to purchase a brand new iPhone, then clearly iPhones are overpriced.
So everyone has been telling me for years that Apple is "so much better" than android, and it's "so much more intuitive, they're sooooo much easier to use, the actions are so much more natural," blah blah blah.
Well my mum was recently given a second hand iPhone by a relative who had upgraded, and??????? More intuitive???? My fucking ass. So far we've had to Google (on my Samsung, which, suck it, Apple) how to bring up all active apps, how to close extraneous apps, how to take a screen shot, and how to zoom. How to zoom. You know how to fucking zoom on an iPhone??? You have to use three damn fingers. What the hell is that???? Three fingers to zoom?? How is that intuitive or natural? That's ludicrous! Three fingers!! To zoom!!!!!!! I guess Android must have gotten in first with the (logical!!) two-finger zoom, and Apple just haaaaad to be different! Couldn't possibly share a command with the likes of Samsung! So they made the screwball decision to use three fingers to zoom????????? Fucking joke
The Mac Minty
Itās Black Friday, and while the shoppers in the West are killing each other over disposable junk manufactured in dystopian hellholes, Iām at home basking in my frugal nature with my 13-year-old Mac Mini brought back to useful life with an installation of a Linux Mint operating system. I call it The Mac Minty. Continue reading The Mac Minty
