Paul and Cruz Pledge to Defeat Anti-Second Amendment Bill in Senate

Senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are preparing to do battle over legislation moving through Congress to further erode the Second Amendment and disarm the American people.
In a letter addressed to Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, Paul and Cruz said they will oppose “any legislation that would infringe on the American people’s constitutional right to bear arms, or on their ability to exercise this right without being subjected to government surveillance.”

Moreover, they will use cloture – forcing a time limit on the consideration of legislation – on “any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions.”
“The second Amendment to the Constitution protects citizens’ right to self-defense,” the letter states. “It speaks to history’s lesson that government cannot be in all places at all times, and history’s warning about the oppression of a government that tries.”
Republicans opposed to anti-gun legislation in the Senate are concerned that after a bill is introduced, Democrats will attempt to pile on amendments that will further restrict the constitutional right to own and bear firearms.
Reid has indicated he will allow Democrats to reintroduce measures stripped from the bill while in committee – most notably, those proposed by Senator Dianne Feinstein. The California Democrat sponsored legislation that would outlaw more than 150 semiautomatic firearms and limit the number of rounds the government would allow in a magazine.
Although the word “filibuster” was not used in the letter, the establishment media has decided to portray the effort to save the Second Amendment as obstructionism.
Earlier this month, Senator Paul conducted a filibuster in response to the Obama administration’s use of drones in the United States. According to a recent Gallup poll, a large number of Americans – 79 percent – support the senator from Kentucky’s stance.
This guy "Bill Maher" is the most ignorant, shallow person I have ever heard speak about any political issue.There were so many things that were simply untrue that he said. If he is trying to make a point he should probably use facts to persuade people instead of these ridiculous ideas/lies:
1. When a newly elected congressman (Boehner) talks about helping to reduce the country's debt and setting an example to follow by reducing spending inside the government, how are you able to make fun of him because of this? And his joke is mathematically untrue which makes him sound really uneducated. It's the idea of setting the right spending mentality within the government that Boehner is doing. How do they actually find pleasure in making fun of reducing unnecessary spending!?
2. I would like to hear him explain how the NRA is "the assassin's lobby". This is absurd! The NRA is a wonderful organization which promotes firearm safety and protects our gun rights from jerk-offs like Bill Maher.
3. "I'm so tired of hearing about the second amendment and the constitution" - Bill Maher. I don't think I need to explain why this is wrong... HE WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO BE THE DOUCHE HE IS WITHOUT THE CONSTITUTION!!! And the second amendment is vital to a free country!
4. Loving guns is not like alcohol, drugs, sex addiction or gambling!! I am an avid gun owner/ concealed carry instructor and competition shooter and I do not drink, do drugs, have premarital sex or gamble. This is the most ridiculous comparison that I have ever heard. He is 100% wrong, period. Who is he to tell America what is good for it? Liberal superiority complex? And why is it not good for me or anyone else? I guarantee the shooter in Arizona didn't have an obsession with guns or even like guns so how is this relevant?
4. "Stop the Bullshit about the Second Amendment and the Constitution" - Bill Maher. My mind is blown!!!
5. "Nobody needs a gun that fires 31 rounds". He's an Idiot!!!! It's illegal to own a gun that fires 31 rounds! Oh wait this shooter didn't care about a law preventing him from owning a illegal gun and murdering people BECAUSE GUN RESTRICTIONS DO NOT STOP PEOPLE FROM DOING THIS KIND OF THING!!!!!! I wonder how gun control supporters could explain how this guy was able to use and illegal gun to kill people...you know because an extra law preventing people from having freedoms should be enough to stop a mass murderer and all. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!
6. "He would not have been able to kill if original law had been in place" - Jay Leno Yeah since murders love obeying the law.
7. "It's just the psychology of this country, which loves guns" - Bill Maher Uh Yeah.
8. "It's just a very armed country" Uh Yeah (I almost think he's trying to suck up to me now)
9. "....with a lot of crazy people in it." Uh Yeah, that's why we're armed you jackass.
10. The connection of the very armed country and having a lot of crazy people in it is completely unrelated and when connections like this are made in public speeches these kind of "lies" or attempts to misguide you are called fallacies. This specific fallacy would be Confusing Cause and Effect because there is no link between our country being armed and crazy people killing people.
11. I disagree with him, it is great to be armed everywhere. And to be legally armed you need training so that you can be armed and safe everywhere.
12. He completely made up the part about Arizona's law allowing people to carry any weapon concealled without a permit. No state has any laws like that.
13. He is also lying about a drunk being legally armed. Completely illegal. Cannot drink alcohol and carry a firearm.
14. If he knew anything about concealed carry history it has prevented many people from being killed. So, again he's wrong its not a fantasy.
15. Left wingers don't do anything bad and they don't have a crazy audience so don't blame them. Bullshit!
There is not enough time to tell you all how wrong he is and how many fallacies he used in this one video. Don't take anything to be true from this video except that this country does love guns and is very armed and that will never change as long as I live.
