I don’t like Captain America, but I used to love him
The reason for that is simple; he lost my respect in Civil War. Before that movie I thought he was a great charactar with an interesting background. A man out of time who was ajusting. He just wanted to do the right thing and help his friend and I can respect that.
Then Civil War happened and all ov that was thrown out the window. I got where he came from and I wouldn’t willingly trust the gouverment right after I found out they were Nazi’s, but this wasn’t the gouvernment, this was the UN. This were 117 countries saying that they felt unsafe, when the Avengers were brought together to bring peace.
So I get that he didn’t want to sign just anything, but Tony offered to revise to help and he didn’t give him a chance. He didn’t give one of his friends a chance, even though friendship and the importance of that was a big part of his charater.
He tells Wanda that Tony is keeping her a prisoner, when all Tony is trying to do is protect her, protect her from ending up where she did because of Steve. In a prison.
He refused Tonys help to get Bucky somewhere nice where he could be helped, because Mr. Golden Boy wanted to do it himself. He killed people to find Bucky and help him when that wasn’t nessaccery, in that moment he was the bully he hated so much.
I don’t know how well I can put it, but I want to see it from his point and I do, but I don’t get why he came to the conclusions that lead to his actions with the information that he had.
He left his close friend to die after he became mad because Bucky killed his parents, which Steve understands when Wanda and Pietro want to. And it wasn’t just that, he knew and he kept it from Tony. He was the liar he feared the gouvernement would be.
I liked him, but he lost my respect in Civil War and I will forever dislike him for what he did in that movie.
