The thought of Louis or Harry being bi is almost revolting to y’all and I can’t even begin to understand.
One thing is that we are having this endless what if H (and Louis) are bi conversation just because they are closeted to the public and so their label - and it´s probably unpopular opinion in the world of "why we need to put tags and labels on everything" but imo they very much labeled their sexuality years ago - is like a huge mystery. Second thing is gf harries and their desperate hope to still have at least that minimal chance with H. Because at least some of his relationships must´ve been true - their faves are CR and TR because they were oh-so-private - and so he can´t be gay. And third thing is that bisexual narrative which spinned with Medicine and people are still arguing if he´s singing "him" (gay) or "them" (bi) in that part about boys and girls. And in the meanwhile during that one interview back in like 2013 H himself said he´s quite sure he isn´t bi.
Idk, I became larrie while my previous mindset was that H´s straight and into women only. I haven´t witnessed him during the 1D era and when he was around Louis. All I´ve learnt about his probable sexuality - that he´s gay - was through larries who are there for +10 years and witnessed it all. So someday I do have a doubt if there isn´t at least that minimal chance of him being into women. But at the same time I came to an opinion that if he´s truly bi, there would be no reason why to not come out - it won´t hurt him because coming out as bi would mean he´s still into women and his relationships were real to the public. A lot of now publicaly out gay men used bisexuality as a stepping stone. Why he´s not going that way? My theory is that he doesn´t want to lie to his community (eventho his community is accusing him from queerbaiting like he´s the biggest queerbaiter ever) and rather wait until he will be able to come out with the label that he truly indentifies with. And that´s not bi.
I'm going to be very real with you. I side-eye any anti who gets at someone's throat about Harry and/or Louis being bi. Unless they're just making innocent "well, you don't know them, and they could be bi" statements, which are fine and I see them all the time. What I mean are the antis who fully believe they are bi and could not possibly be gay, and then they turn around and call us biphobic. Well, yes, some larries do have biphobic views when it comes to Harry and Louis, but it gets to a point sometimes with the more extreme larries and extreme antis where it becomes just a matter of biphobia vs. homophobia.
When you insist someone is gay and cannot possibly be bisexual, that can be biphobic if that assumption isn't made on any basis. And vice versa. When you insist someone is bisexual and cannot possibly be gay, that can be homophobic if that assumption also isn't made on any basis. It's different if an anti points to song lyrics or whatever and is genuinely convinced that Harry for example likes women; that's fine, and it's understandable why they would take that at face value. I guess my issue here is with the antis who get emotional about Harry liking women, as if they need him to like women. That to me reeks of homophobia. You have to remember that we live in a heteronormative society, and, to most people, bisexuality is much more palatable than homosexuality.
