There were some mistakes in the script... 🤨

How do you think Dumbledore knows Vogel?

//He met Albus and Gellert in a supper club in Vienna in 1903. Over the years, they would run into each other and spend time together across Europe. Neither Albus or Gellert would consider Vogel a friend as such but he was more than just an acquaintance. They shared many interests and they all enjoyed a good party during those years. Vogel is an opportunist and he knew that Albus and Gellert were ambitious and were going to be successful so he wanted to align himself with them. He knew Albus and Gellert were together but he kept that information to himself.

WHY VOGELDORE (Vogel x Dumbledore) makes sense

their names

dumbledore = bumblebee

vogel = bird

birds and the bees...!

continuing on the names -> albus says in CoG he always felt affinity for great magical birds (vogel is tall, big, a wizard and his name means bird... this is soo obvious)

2. Dumbledore CLEARLY has some backstory with Vogel. Sending Newt to personally give him a message in the hopes of changing his mind. Yes, he is the supreme mugwump. But see here; Dumbledore seemed to think there was a chance Vogel would be convinced merely by a message from him. Merely by hearing the words "Do what is right, not what is easy"! That speaks, I think, for them being more than just knowing the other by name.

The most important thing; Vogel PONDERS over this... He actually seems to consider listening to Newt, before the survival instinct kicks in. And remember what he asks Newt? He leans in closer and asks "Is he here? In Berlin?" and when Newt does not respond quick enough, Vogel looks disappointed, and says "No, of course not. Why leave Hogwarts when the world outside is burning?" The tone of this being WISTFUL!

3. Vogel just is Albus type. He's tall. He speaks german. He is a bit morally bankrupt. That is just the way it is.
