I am one of those people who always say that there are things that are untouchable. I think that number 16, because of what Puerta has represented and what Jesús has done at a legendary level, and I think there is no other player in history who can match him in that aspect, there is nothing wrong with that. Why not retire a number? A tribute to Puerta, a tribute to Jesús. That is often done in the NBA. Why not copy the good things from other countries, right? I think there are two different sides and I think that 16 is one of them for several reasons. I think that it is well represented by both Antonio Puerta in his day and Jesús Navas because of all the history around it,” said Sergio Ramos.

Remembering Antonio Puerta 10 years on after his tragic death (28 August 2007). On the 25th of August 2007, the Sevilla player suffered a heart  attack during a La Liga match. Although he walked off the pitch and back to the dressing room, he collapsed again and died 3 days later at only the age of 22. #EternoPuerta
