Also the thing that guts me about Peter is the whole song she’s asking for forgiveness!!!!! Is it something I did!!!!! Forgive me Peter!!!!!!! I tried!!!!!!!! Like it reminds me of the desperation in Dorothea but it’s much further along in the grieving process but she’s still asking for forgiveness for not holding on, for not waiting…. But then rather than ending with ‘the woman who waits by the window has turned off the light’ the song ends with the chorus again!!!! Like a part of her is still waiting for the person to come back to her side…………

always always thinking about how kaveh is described by the literal God of Wisdom as having an almost-perfect grasp of what it means for Sumeru to be a Nation of Wisdom and how Nahida is described as being a “caged bird” and how Kaveh has so many bird motifs (including his constellation, which depicts his fate btw) and also has many references to also being “caged” in a more metaphorical sense…

my thoughts on the new mitski album is i prefer when she commits to the darker rock sound and i prefer her more abstract imagery and storytelling over the straight up break up songs. but as always she is the best working musical artist in our generation
