I think trans women should be allowed to win competitions without being used as proof that trans women are “dominating” women’s sports and I think trans men should be allowed to have big roles in media without being used as proof that trans men benefit from male privilege. I think trans people should be allowed to succeed in life without being used as a way to claim that cis women are inherently the most disadvantaged, when usually those trans people fought just as hard (if not harder) to get where they are than their cisgendered peers. I don’t like how trans people have to fail in order to convince two-bit feminists not to attack us for a privilege that we don’t have.

The anti-otherpaw movement is trying to claim that by wearing masks or doing quads they're copying therianthropy. That's not what therianthropy is at all. And we fear by making that claim it'll only perpetuate the belief that therianthropy = wearing a mask and doing quads.

I’m sorry but at this point literally every male or gender neutral name is a “stereotypical trans masc name” because if it’s a common name any sufficiently queer person probably knows multiple trans men with that name (as well as multiple cis men) and if it’s an uncommon name (at least in the cultural majority) it’s like ohhh classic trans guys picking an artsy unique name!!

it’s so funny when someone will be like “oh you’re a trans guy?? of COURSE you chose that name” and the dude responds with “actually it’s my middle name, it’s on my birth certificate” or “this is a paternal name that has been in my family for generations, it’s what my parents would have named me if I were cis”

honestly every time the grammys pull a fuckass stint like this more artists should follow suit and boycott. magically creating a new "contemporary country" category after a black woman won best country album should've been enough for a significant number of artists of all backgrounds to call bullshit and boycott from submission. seeing the success of arirang and, again, magically creating an asian category when there is literally no reason arirang or any of the singles couldn't be considered in the "big" categories is just another stunning way of saying "only white people can win these awards". bts have done the right thing, in my opinion, by hitting the grammy's where it hurts. they are one of the biggest names in music in their comeback year and their omission from the biggest awards ceremony in the music industry will cause enough chat that, hopefully, is heard. and frankly more white artists should be bringing attention to the grammy's consistent racism by shouldering artists of colour into their own categories. if taylor swift or billie eilish or justin bieber refused to submit as a show of solidarity this wouldn't even be a discussion. anyway I'm proud of the boyz they'll have my little purple heart forever
