A reminder for y'all to restrict your fics to AO3 only if you don't want to get these comments:

Anyone else having an issue on AO3 where the site logs you out when you click on a fic? I've been trying to bookmark a story but no matter what I do, opening the story kicks me out of my account. And THEN when I log back in it brings me to my home page instead of back to the fic. Hitting the back button and refreshing or even just searching the title to find it again kicks me out of my account again. Like I can access/read things still but doing so logs me out and I can only interact with kudos or a guest comment. It's like the site is refusing to let me be logged in specifically when I have a fic open??? I can't seem to find a way around it. :(
WHAT?!?? AO3 is missing comments!?!?!? Interacting with readers is my favorite part of writing. How am I supposed to do that when comments aren’t being saved? I’m usually pretty easy going, but this? This is not okay. 😡😡
Yuletide Sign-ups and AO3 Bugs
There are two known AO3 sign up bugs.
1. A character who is nominated and appears in the tagset doesn’t show up in the generated drop-down list. Just go to the tagset, copy the character name exactly, and enter that into the sign up form.
2. A new, and exciting sign up bug is that for certain characters any attempt to select them will not allow your sign up to be saved. To fix this, you need to get in touch with the mods and they can fix it on the back end. Leave a comment on the modpost if you need to reach out.
Never mind, my fic is back!!!! Yay! I have 77 works again, as I should! My poor little fic, banished into the cybervoid! Welcome back, Now That the Dust has Settled (We Can See the Stars)! :) :) :)
AO3, why? :(
I have a very long draft with many chapters. I went to upload it to AO3. I got to the next to last chapter, formatting and all, which took over a half hour, and (apparently) accidentally posted that chapter publicly rather than posting it as a draft. (I wonder if this was another glitch, because I’ve never done this before, iirc, at least not with anything significant.)
OK, so I’ll just delete that chapter and repost it, right?
No! No! When I deleted it, it took another chapter (say, chapter one) and made it public. When I deleted that one, it made two public. When I deleted that, it made four (skipping three?) public.
I had to delete the ENTIRE THING, because when it marks a chapter as “public,” there is no way to undo that.
I shouldn’t even be up this late - I told myself it was worth it, because I could get all this uploaded (as a draft) before bed.
No.
(Seriously, folks - take their advice and never compose a story on the website! This is one reason why!)
Funny little AO3 bugs I‘ve encountered! (Sorry for the image quality)
Damn it, reading bad ao3 stories on a touch device is dangerous. I just hit kudos by mistake while trying to scroll and now my name is the only named kudos under a story I really don’t like.
And there is no way to change it (beside deleting my account).
ARGH!
