I marvel at people who post fics as they write. It's the literary equivalent of a high wire act. I can't imagine how anyone stays motivated to continue writing and posting in the middle of the everyday challenges of life. Amazing!

something I’ve been reflecting on while editing,

Have you ever returned to a draft and felt like the intention is clear, but the impact isn’t quite there?

It reads well but doesn’t fully connect.

• the idea comes through, but feels distant • the scene moves, but lacks tension • the moment passes without much weight

• How do you bridge the gap between intention and impact? • What tells you a scene needs more presence?

So um. Apparently I blacked out on Red Bull and Emotion™ because:

📖 Chapter 3 - Not His Business Summary: Draco is not thinking about Hermione Granger. He is not paying attention to her silence, her exhaustion, or the way Weasley’s words hit too hard. And he is definitely not staying up at night, irritated by things that are not his problem. Nope. Not at all.

This chapter is peak slow burn suffering™, filled with Draco’s emotional constipation, jealousy he refuses to acknowledge, and an argument that he has no business caring about—but does anyway. (Weasley, watch your back. 👀)

Chapter seven "Missed Signs" sneak peak:

Draco was sure he was dreaming, there was no way his body was actually on fire.

He looked down and saw he held Granger in his arms as she smiled back up at him. It wasn’t her normal smile, this one was twisted and morphed into something threatening, something horrifying. Draco tried backing up but was unable to rip his melted limbs off of Granger as the fire consumed them both. He tried to scream, only to find his voice silent among the roar of the flames.
