Playing minecraft (specifically the modpack aof7) and like. Ive played spectrum before. Never fully, never past the point of making ruin, but now that I Am still learning things in it, and just got below into the place ruin gives access to, I have a whole new love for the mod.
Getting below bedrock and making it to those empty towns, reading those leftover books and finding those turret-armed fortresses was like a gut punch. There was so much space, and so much life to the buildings, but there was noone there to populate them. So deep down, far beyond where light should be capable of reaching lay excavation sites, libraries, churches and buildings that are strikingly similar to life. Our life. Before, in the overworld, those occasional ruins that could be found below ground were intriguing, but disconnected in their own way. Now, though, with the apartment buildings specifically, it really hit home how sad this place was. How devoid and abandoned this city was. How alone one as a player really is.
