Letās talk about a wrong turn that oddly turned into a good night
Okay, so Iāll start off by saying this. Every unfortunate event that has happened to me, this year, has turned out to be a blessing in the end. So I guess you can say after a mild panic attack that last for 2 minutes and some change, Iām good. Like deep inhale, exhaleā¦gimme some solutions to work with. Because being stressed will only worsen the situation as well as age my already young ass face.
Yesterday night I was on my way to drop my friend off on the westside of Detroit. I was at my parents house, whoās east, so I figured I would take the Davison freeway and get off at Wyoming. blah blah blah. Something is playing on the radio so weāre talking and laughing and I seen the Davison sign so Iām like,Ā āright on, weāre out this bitchāā¦in my head. Just to vaguely paint a picture hereā¦Davison starts off as a street and turns into a freeway shortly after if you continue west. Thereās also a train that runs through Davison ever so often. Oddly thereās a a huge opening to the tracks RIGHT before the street itselfā¦
You may know where Iām going at this pointā¦
So I turn and in a quick blur my car is STUCK. Not on the tracks but in the middle of a ramp. My left tire was in the air while the right tire was stuck behind cracked concrete. Of course the first thought isĀ āoh shitā so my friend jumps out of the car and tries to push it from the hood. nothing. He tried to push it from behind, nothing. My dumb ass jumps out to help and then gravity did itsĀ thing and slammed my door shut. It gets better, not only are my keys stuck in the car but so is both of our phones. At this point weāre panicking and laughing nervously.Ā
After a short freak out we breathed, joked about it and was able to flag down someone driving by who allowed us to use her phone. It was 11:09pm when I called my brother to bring my spare car key. Luckily we weāre 5 minutes away from my parents house. As we waited many people stopped by to help, some stopped by just to be like,Ā ādamnā and then one particular man pulled over in a big ass truck. He asked us what happened, we told him and he told us that he had a chain to pull the car out from home. FUCKING SWEET. THANK YOU OMG. he also told us that a train is supposed to be on itās way in less than an hourā¦
I definitely took a poot because at this point Iām accepting the fact that my car may get smashed into oblivion and Iāll be paying for a car that I canāt driveĀ forever (not really but shit, I like my money to stay in my pockets). My brother shows up with my keys but before he pulled up he almost literally did the same EXACT thing. So I didnāt feel like that much of a dumb ass because itās common (There was a bumper and a tire near by). At this point weāre trying to use ANYTHING as Ā a ramp for my shit to grab onto. But there was no traction, so no deal. An ambulance pulls up and asks us if weāre hurt, injured etc etc. We weāre straight so there wasnāt much for them to do but they DID contact someone to stall the train. Talk about blessings. At this point itās about 11:30 something, and one person pulled up making jokes. Jokes. Jokes. And Iām OVER IT OKAY. But he tried to help by calling around friends with trucks. 10 minutes goes by and the man with the big ass truck pulls up and told us that he couldnāt find his chain. Sad face right? well, he brought a jack and then a guy in a white jeep pulled behind him like,Ā āYāALL NEED SOME HELP TO PULL THIS MOTHER FUCKER OUT?????āā¦I got in my car, started that bitch and cut my wheel to left. Weāre racing against time and with some help from a bunch of beautiful strangers (angels) we was able to get my shit out of that devilish ditch.Ā
My brother offered to pay but he refused and told us that he just wanted us to be safe. NOTE ITāS MIDNIGHT AT THIS POINT. Everyone that rode by us was so kind and supportive. Some people even doubled back to make sure weĀ didn't get robbed or worse. Community man. I donāt give a shit how bad you THINK my city is. I donāt give a fuck if youād rather avoid MY zip code because of what you hear but I love it and Iāve NEVER had an issue with anyone being malicious. I mean, one guy tried to touch my butt at the bus stop a few years ago but you get my point, Iām sure.
