m. atsumu
“You left me all night!” You yelled out as you walked out of the apartment, you should feel bad but you know Atsumu could barely hear you over the music. “I didn’t know anyone, Atsumu, you told me,” pointing your finger at him, you angrily walked closer. “You told me that you would stay by my side so I wouldn’t feel left out.”
Carding his hand through his hair in frustration, you could feel the anger rise and Atsumu getting antsier. You briefly saw the door open behind Atsumu again.
“Jesus fucking Christ, I was goin’ to get back to ya!” Atsumu spat out, “It’s not my fault! I have friends.”
“Yeah, friends,” you scoffed. “Girls feeling you up all night, people whispering in your ear,” you could see it again, you could feel it again. “People grinding against you, taking photos with you so they can boast about it on social media.”
“What the hell did ya want me to do? Babysit ya? I have to mingle, (Y/N), it’s part of ma job! I have to make connections, that’s what ya do at a party like this, ya can also have fun!,” Atsumu snapped. “Like you would know though.”
Scrunching your face in anger, “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”
“Ya don’t know how to have fun! Every single fuckin’ time we’re at a party, I have to stick by you! Ye can go to Omi or even Bokkun but, no! You have to be fuckin’ clingin’ to me!”
“”Tsum,” you quieted down. It was getting all too much, everything; Atsumu, the music, the fight. “Calm down.”
“Oh, now yer want me to calm down?” Stalking closer to you, “Ye were perfectly happy screaming at me inside the party when everyone was watching,” Atsumu snarled, his fists curling in on themselves. “What now that no one is here to watch, ya want to be quiet, now that you don’t have attention?” This wasn’t the Atsumu that you knew, this was someone completely different.
“‘Tsum, please,” you quietly begged but Atsumu was too far gone in anger to listen to you. Everything was overwhelming him. Your voice that has now gone quiet, any other day, Atsumu would have dropped everything to make sure you were fine.
“If I knew that being friends with someone like you meant that I have to babysit you all the time, I wouldn’t have become your friend!”
Shocked at the words that came out of Atsumu’s mouth, you stumbled backwards.
You knew that from the start, you weren’t really cut out to be a part of Atsumu’s flashy lifestyle. The constant parties, the connections, the people that the hung out with. You weren’t tall and glamorous, you were friendly and people liked you, but never would you have been called a showstopper. You knew that people thought that of you, you just didn’t expect Atsumu to.
Deflating, Atsumu watched in horror as you slowly closed in on yourself, tears rimming your eyes. “(Y/N),” he reached out to you.
“No,” you swallowed. “It’s good to know what you finally thought, before I confessed, right?”
“Confessed?” Atsumu asked under his breath. Finally understanding what you just said, Atsumu felt his heart fall to his feet. Moving towards you, intending to make everything better, Atsumu watched as you tried to keep the distance between the two of you. Feeling even shittier than he ever has, he hoped that he could at least make you feel a little better.
“(Y/N),” he tried again, and again you avoided him. Your gaze fell to the floor, unable to look at Atsumu anymore. There was no anger, no fire, no spite in you left, all that was left was hurt.
“I think that’s enough Atsumu,” your eyes darted to his captain, an unusual scowl on his usual smiling and jovial face. Pushing past his junior, Meian’s eyes were focused on you. Barely giving Atsumu another glance, once he reached you, he looked at you once over again, “Are you okay?”
When you didn’t respond, Meian gently grabbed your arm, “Come on, I’ll take you home, doll.”

He was silent, he was always silent and has never once raised his voice at you. While your entire relationship was not completely devoid of words, it was filled with comforting silence which you both enjoyed. While Aone didn’t speak that much, the rare occasions that he did filled your tummy with butterflies and made you feel warm everywhere. What he didn’t say, he did so with touch.
It was a rough day; with the heat on his back causing the migraine he’s currently having, the heavy lifts that he had to do all day, and everything just going wrong. Aone felt tired and all he wanted to do was to have a cold shower and go to bed.
Unfortunately, all you wanted to do was talk to him, as you too had a bad day and you just needed your boyfriend to comfort you.
When you noticed Aone walk through the door, you gently smiled at him and wrapped your arms around him. Feeling that his hug wasn’t as tight as usual, you shrugged it off, thinking nothing of it.
Asking him about his day, Aone grunted quietly, sitting him down on the couch, you played with his hair. Thinking it was like the usual day, you began your story about how the heat got to you, and you forgot your hat so you too had a headache, and then all of the customers you had were absolutely terrible, and no one in your group project messaged you back.
“Please just go away,” Aone quietly spoke, but you were far too busy in your story to notice the tall man close his eyes in pain.
“(Y/N),” Aone sternly spoke, making you jump a little bit due to the power in his voice. “Can you just shut up for a little bit, you’re talking a bit too much.”
“Oh,” you whispered, “I’m sorry. I didn’t realise! Did you want me to do anything?” Now you saw how exhausted he looked, could feel the heat radiating off him, the hunch on his back and the grim look on his face. As you began fussing around him, Aone couldn’t help but get more irritated. As you began listing the things that you can do for him, Aone’s ire rose.
“JUST STOP!” Your hands dropped to your lap as you slowly lifted your eyes to Aone’s furious and tired ones. “Please.”
For the first time in your relationship, you were the quiet one as you saw the man in front of you flush a bright red, but it wasn’t the usual slight flush of embarrassment, or a heated blush. It was anger. It was unfamiliar to you and for the first time in your relationship you felt small because of Aone, -the person who never failed to make you feel like you were on top of the world.
“Aone, I’m sorry,” your voice was soft, afraid that he may snap at you again. Taking your gaze off him, you wrapped your arms around yourself. “I’m just gonna go,” you muttered under your breath.
“(Y/N),” Aone whispered brokenly, realising what just happened. Fighting the migraine and the stress on his back, Aone tried to catch up to you before you left, truly not knowing what to do. You’ve never walked away from him this upset.
“Just lay down, please, Nobu,” you replied. Standing up you felt him grasp your hand gently, but you let it fall through the gaps. “I’ll make you something, okay? Just,” fussing with your hands, you quickly turned around to go to the kitchen. Not bothering to finish your sentence with the fear of accidentally sobbing in front Aone, you rushed to the kitchen.
