Aonoak Headcanon 🙂‍↕️

Aonung trying to be playful, sneaking up behind Lo'ak to hug him from behind and give him kisses. Lo'ak, son of Jake, who has been trained in self defense, grabbing his arm and slamming him against the ground.

He felt so bad afterwards, meanwhile Aonung was freaking out internally because that was so hot??????

In a less funny context, imagine Lo'ak suffering from PTSD and having difficulty adjusting to the peaceful life in Awa'atlu. He jumps at sudden noises, his body goes rigid when someone who's not his family touches him. Sometimes he dissociates while doing something, staring off at nothing.

It gets worse after Aonung leaves him beyond the reef. Now, even when people are being nice and trying to befriend him, he can't immediately trust them.

After they start dating Aonung notices how Lo'ak sometimes just stares off and is deaf to the world. He sees the way he jumps, back straightening and ears flying up when there's a sudden, loud noise. And there are times that Aonung reaches for him too quickly or when Lo'ak isn't paying attention and he tenses.

They talk about it and Aonung's heart breaks at how much Lo'ak has had to endure. And he hates how he added to that. He cups Lo'ak face when he tells him he has never told anyone before, out of fear of being seen as weak.

Aonung sighs, placing his hand on Lo'ak's chest, over his heart.

"I know you. I know this heart. You will never be weak to me"

From that point on, whenever he notices Lo'ak jumping or tensing, he works with him to ground him, help him breathe. And Lo'ak starts to be more openly affectionate with him, reaching for his hand and sneaking up behind Aonung himself, for hugs and kisses.

‼️Headcanon time for aonoak‼️ 

okay so something i think would be really funny is a heavily oblivious lo’ak but in terms of that he didn’t know aonoung has been (trying at least) hitting on him after a while of knowing each other,

like, they’re finally on good terms so aonoung tries shooting his shot and lo’ak is immediately taking this as weird jabs at him and gets all defensive and ready to throw hands and poor aonung is trying to figure out what’s wrong with complimenting his hair :’)

But I also love the potential of having them taking it real slow like trying to befriend a moody cat by offering it food and space and Id love how their friends would have to watch them painstakingly take weeks for lo’ak to accept ilu lessons from aonung simply because he instinctively snarls or something every time aonung tries showing him proper hand placement through touch (the idiots I love them sm)

YES YES OMG ME AND KROI HAD THE EXACT SAME CONVO.

I truly believe Aonung fell for Loak first-he would be the first one to accept it and fall even harder lmfao. Meanwhile Loak, is still in denial and has complicated feelings over Aonung. He remains oblivious to Aonung's advances, afterall-why would the Olo'eyktan’s son want anything to do with him? His insecurities get the best of him.

Then cut to Aonung creating a courting gift for him 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Even though Loak is still defensive and untrusting of Aonung despite forgiving him, Aonung has the spirit and yearning energy as his father lmao he would NEVER give up. He would only use this opportunity to get to know him and get even closer to him. His efforts go far as to abandoning his old friends who would tease Loak, he'd ditch them to have swimming lessons with Loak. He'd swap with tsireya to be able to be the one teaching Loak, to his dismay lmfao. While loak is frustrated because why is he EVERYWHERE??

-> Other villagers start to notice Aonung's interest in loak, the sons of Olo'eyktan’s usually don't put THIS much time and effort for a single person, especially with so much care. Tonowari taught him well.

-> even after warming up to him, loak is STILL oblivious to aonung's intentions lol, even accidentally friendzoning or even worse, brotherzoning him 😭😭

Aonung: oh yeah?

Loak: yeah, you're like another brother to me :)

Aonung: *dies inside*

+ I'd like to add another thing that Aonung has done that is so PAINFULLY OBVIOUS that he is so interested in loak but loak doesnt seem to take a hint : he introduces him to his spirit brother. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ oh loak..
