Summary: Deke’s habit of teasing his best friend at the Mackenzies’ annual Christmas party is less fun when she’s engaged. Trevor’s little sister is bringing her serious boyfriend for their New Year’s traditions and he’s left as the awkward third wheel. Maybe there’s a way they can help each other out.

'tis the damn season: a Skimmons Hallmark Rom-Com - Chapter 2 Out Now!
Summary: Recently single interior designer Daisy Johnson returns to her small town at Christmas time to appease her sassy friend, and magically falls in love with a sensitive girl in plaid.
Written for @aosficnet2’s Topsy Turvy Hallmark Holiday challenge!
In This Chapter: Daisy bumps into a cute girl in plaid on her way up to her cabin - and then keeps bumping into her throughout her stay. Is it chance, is it fate... or is it the owner of Coulson's Corner Store?
Sneak Peek:
"Uh," Daisy said eloquently, momentarily losing her speech capabilities completely as the very bi part of her brain went, hellOH.
The woman - who, Daisy noticed, was wearing what appeared to be a blue puffer jacket over a soft plaid shirt, a combination that should never have worked, at all, but on her just looked downright adorable - smiled at her, her cheeks dimpling and the corners of her eyes crinkling with laughter lines. "Hi," she said, with a little wave at Daisy.

Sneak Peek:
"Go on a holiday," Elena said simply. "Get out of this place where everything reminds you of him, and start fresh with a cute foreigner."
"Cute foreigners aren't my type," Daisy protested, which they both knew was a blatant lie, and a blatant deflection. "Besides, where would I even go? Everywhere is full already."
"Not everywhere," Mack pointed out as though he had been waiting for her to say that, which, she realised, he probably had. "Not somewhere ridiculously tiny."
He pulled out his phone and held it out to her, swiping so she could see a screenshot of a flight special he must have taken earlier that night.

In This Chapter: Questions are answered, dates are gone on, and everything is pretty much perfect. Until, of course, it isn’t.
Sneak Peek:
“Will you go out with me?”
Jemma gasped, then flushed a very pretty shade of pink, pulling her hand out of Daisy’s and brushing a strand of brown hair behind her ear with a flustered kind of smile. “Oh, um, you mean you’d like me to walk out with you to my car - to our very separate cars? Because if so, I just have a few more things I need to buy before I can -”
“No, I don’t mean out to your car,” Daisy asked, simultaneously fighting back the urge to, firstly, roll her eyes and wonder if anyone was really that clueless; secondly, start grinning like a smitten idiot at how adorably she pulled off said cluelessness; and thirdly, start panicking that she had misinterpreted things horribly and there wasn’t anything between them, after all.
No. She was sure she wasn’t the only one who had felt their connection, she was sure of it - but if she was, there was still only the one way to find out, wasn’t there?
“No,” she repeated out loud, reaching for Jemma’s hand again. “No, I didn’t mean like out to your car, I meant the other thing - like a date. You know.” She found herself blushing almost as hard as Jemma, but she forced herself to hold the other woman’s gaze as she pressed on, “So what do you say?”

Sneak Peek:
Trevor shook his head and kissed Deke's cheek before stepping back. "I should go find a spot to sit, anyway. Take him for as long as you need."
Deke reached for his hand before he could get too far, shaking his head. "My speech-"
"Is written very neatly on notecards that I have stored in my pocket. I'll keep them safe until dinner."
"And the plane tickets?"
"For our trip? Well, that's not for another couple weeks, so I haven't printed them out yet."
"No, Trevor, for the honeymoon."
"Oh. You, as the best man, were supposed to grab those off the kitchen table when we left your place yesterday." Trevor watched him for a moment before letting himself smile with a small shake of his head. "Which is why I grabbed them as soon as I realized how flustered you still were over giving a speech. They're in my pocket, next to the notecards. Go, help your friend, I'll see you later?'
Taking a slow breath, Deke made himself nod and squeezed his boyfriend's hand before letting go. "You're the best."
