So, I hit my 10 year veganniversary in October 2014. A lot of my friends are long time vegans, too. A lot of joy comes from food information sharing. "Did you hear about this new restaurant?" "Try this new brand of veg cheese!" "I have a great new recipe!" After ten years of abstaining from animal products, it just occurred to me, that I still find out new things ALL THE TIME, not all good. There is always something that gets ruined FOREVER because I didn't know it had animal products. Red wine? Bug butts. Sprinkles? Bug vomit. What new thing will I find out is made from giraffe spit?! So, basically every time I level up as a vegan, it just means something else I can't have and that's depressing.
