I made Laurance be on Starlight, because… why wouldnt he be there to see his partners after Aaron nearly DIED in S4? However, he wasn’t there during the like.. Big moment vs the Demon Warlock so he doesn’t know that Aaron lost his memories or what happened with Aph and Travis.
NOTE: First time writing for Aphmau characters... Getting back into Aphmau since S7 of Mystreet and MID S2 have been announced so I need to rewatch the show lol<3 So it might be a little off.
Also, this entire thing is based on my memory of S5/S6 after not watching it in like 3 years so let's see how good my memory is.
Thankfully, since this is an AU, anything i get wrong and be chalked up to that.

It's been six days since the events on Starlight.
Six days since two of Garroth's partners were almost taken away.
Six days since he almost killed his brother.
Six days...
And now he's in the kitchen, attempting to make pancakes for his blind, amnesiac boyfriend upstairs while Melissa is out getting groceries with Zane.
Key word: Attempting.
He's never made pancakes before, okay? He's going off what he remembers from Rachael's recipe.
Rachael...
She's dead, Derek is too, and Aaron doesn't remember either of them. Garroth would be lying if he said he didn't dislike Derek at least a little bit. He understands why he treated Aaron the way he did, (especially after Starlight when he transformed) but even if he understands it doesnt change the fact that he was a horrible dad.
Which reminds of him, Garte's been missing since they got off Starlight and shockingly, no one realised until they got back home. Even Zianna didn't realise.
Ever since what happened at the lodge, Garroth's eyes were opened to just how shit Garte treated his brothers all while treating him amazingly because he was Garte’s favourite child. He's almost happy? that Garte isn't here. Of course, he hopes that Garte is okay, the man is still his father after all, but honestly things have been way better without him. His mother seemed happier during this week of Garte not being around than she did for all the years Garroth had seen her and Garte together.
Not to mention, him being gone is much better for Zane to heal. Garte always treated Zane worse than Garroth, after the trauma of Starlight with Garroth almost killing Zane, and Zane losing both part of his memory and some of his intelligence, Garte not being around should make it easier for Zane to be able to heal in a healthier environment.
And once Laurance gets here and Vylad’s plane lands, Garroth will have to explain to them why he’s a werewolf and why Aaron is…
God, how will Laurance feel? Their boyfriend doesn’t remember them and their girlfriend is still on Starlight in the hospital… He’d be heartbroken—
Garroth shakes his head.
No, no, no.
He shouldn't think about these things right now.
Just… focus.
Garroth finishes the stack of pancakes, topping them off with butter and syrup.
It might not be as good as Rachael’s but it’s something!
“Alright, now to go wake Aaron. If he’s not already awake… He’s been waking early from nightmares recently…” He mumbles to himself as he picks up some utensils to place on the plate before bringing it up to Aaron.
“Hey, Aaron? I’m coming in, okay?” He, as gently as he can, knocks twice on the door before entering. The first time he went to Aaron’s room, he was so excited to see how he was doing that he, with his inhumane strength, broke the door down by accident and scared Aaron so bad he nearly fell off the bed. He learnt his lesson after that.
He waits for a few seconds and having not heard a response, he opens the door and is met with a peacefully sleeping Aaron. A sight that fills him with such joy and love that his tail begins to wag quickly, he almost doesn’t want to wake him up. It’s rare to see Aaron sleep peacefully since the incident, so he really wants to let him have this but the pancakes will get cold. He places the plate on the bedside table before whipping out his phone to snap a picture for memories.
After waiting a few seconds, the blonde walks over and very gently shakes him, “Aaron… C’mon you need to wake up, it’s breakfast time.”
White eyes slowly open and blink at him. He remembers Melissa mentioning that the doctor said Aaron can see small movements on occasion, but they never mentioned when or if Aaron will get his eyesight back.
“Uhh… Garroth?” Aaron’s voice is way deeper on mornings, Garroth always thought it was cute. His boyfriend sniffs the air and immediately his ears and tail straighten out, “Are those… Pancakes?” He asks, an underlying excitement in his tone. Pancakes have come to be Aarons favourite breakfast meal within the past week, so when he realised that the smell was he immediately sat up and…

“Ow…”
“Hmm…”
… He didn’t realise Garroth was leaning over him and accidentally headbut him.
Thankfully, a perk of being a werewolf is that they feel less pain so it didn’t hurt as much.
Time seemed to pause as the two “stared” at each other for a few seconds before they blushed in embarrassment and Garroth backed away from the bed as they both yelled apologies at each other.
“Gah…! Aaron, I’m so sorry..!”
Aaron shook his head, shifting to sit with his legs off the bed, “No, no, It’s my fault, I should’ve been more careful..” He tries to apologise instead but that only made Garroth want to apologise more, “No, I shouldn’t have been—” Irene, they’re not going to get anywhere if he starts this back and forth.
Is Garroth actually going to suck it up?
…But the pancakes…
Ugh, alright.
“A-anyway, Aaron… I made some pancakes for you since Melissa is out with Zane buying groceries. I’ve uhh.. never made them before but i’d like you to try them, especially before they get cold…” Garroth takes the plate, handing it to Aaron as he sits beside him on the bed.
Aaron’s gotten better at eating by himself so far, he slips up every now and then but for the most part, he’s adjusting to his blindness pretty well. Guess he has his werewolf features to help with that.
Now, he sits awkwardly waiting for Aaron to try his pancakes, praying that he likes them, all while trying to calm his tail and failing miserably.
Oh Irene, if Laurance was here right now, he’d tease him so bad.
Ever since what happened, Garroth’s been so shy around Aaron and Aphmau it’s crazy. It’s like he’s reverted back to the awkward beginning phase of the relationship.
And with Aaron? It may as well be.
Aaron doesn’t remember him, he only remember’s Shu, Aphmau’s online name from back in highschool.
But he doesn’t remember Aphmau, that Aphmau is Shu. He says he wants to talk to Shu again, and Garroth wishes he could help with that but Aphmau and Travis have restricted phone access in the hospital so it’s not really possible.
Aaron doesn’t remember their relationship, the good times nor the bad.
To Aaron, Garroth is a stranger.
But to Garroth, Aaron is one of the loves of his life.
One of the people Garroth wants to marry. His tail stops moving, going limp on Aaron’s bed as sad thoughts fill Garroth’s head.
And if Aaron doesn’t get his memories back, he and the other’s will have to build up that relationship again. Not that that’s a big issue, he’d love to spend time doing more lovey-dovey stuff with his partners and making more memories with them! The real problem is that Aaron doesn’t remember the memories they already had…
Like back when they were stupid teens and Laurance entered into an ice cream eating contest to impress them even though he’s lactose intolerant and ended up on the toilet the whole night.
Or, back when Aaron heard that Aphmau liked shirtless guys (thank you Gray Fullbuster, because of you, Garroth got to experience shirtless Aaron) and that Garroth loved his abs so he started being shirtless and only wearing a jacket everywhere.
It’s those silly moments that Garroth loves… and Aaron doesn’t remember.
What if he doesn’t want a relationship with them anymore?
Is it really okay for him to still call Aaron his boyfriend if—
“Hmp… It’s amazing…!”
Wait, huh?!
Garroth shakes his head.
Gosh, he zoned out again…
He looks at Aaron whose face is beaming with delight.
Garroth tries… he really does… but he can’t help the goofy giggle he lets out at the praise, his tail immediately springing back up.
“You think so?” His voice is giddy like a child. Why is he like this…
His partner nods as he takes another bite and Garroth has forgotten all about his bad thoughts.
It’s okay.
They’re all going to be okay.
All I have to say is that, Garroth when he was being mind controlled by Michael in S6 was so hot I'M NOT SORRY
