Briefly describe what about the bio drew you to the character you’re applying for?: I was drawn to the ‘personality outline’ for Lily initially. The sentence of, “She is losing her faith in humanity.” haunted me, almost? I felt a strong desire to know as to what happened to make her feel that way and so early on in the game. The rest of her biography was pretty standard for Lily. I have seen my fair share of Lily biographies in my day, not counting this as a bad thing!, but I wanted something different…. and as I kept reading about her personality and how everything ties together for her, I felt like the way she’s written here is different and more intriguing than other places and yet still remains true to canon information. I read through other biographies that were posted, but my mind kept straying back to that one tiny quote and in the end— her passion overwhelmed me and I knew I had to at least give her a try to develop the way that the lovely admins had written her.
What parts of the bio do you look forward to embodying?: Would it be overly obvious is I just say all of it? To be honest, that is what I’m feeling right now. I’m not really excited for one notion of her more then another, but instead—- I’m excited about everyaspect that’s given to her. I’m fascinated by her character traits and to develop those further and turn those words into meaning for flaws and talents for Lily. I’m excited to see her shine in the heat of a battle and then breakdown as she feels torn between her beliefs and how her people are being treated inside of the Wizarding world that she lives in where shes supposed to feel at home. I am interested in developing the Order member side to Lily, to see what plans are in store for her specifically and to try and see her figure a way to try to help the cause as much as she possibly can. I’m just overly excited for it all, basically.
Character name: Lily Evans
Any changes to the FC?: FC change to Kat Mcnamara or Sophie Turner.
Any immediate changes or concerns for the biography?: I would like to alter the core of Lily’s wand, if possible? I listed my reasoning’s behind the change and why I feel like Dragon Heartstring connects to her more in the bonus section. Beyond that, I have no changes!
Do you have any specific ships or anti-ships for your character?: Every little girl always dreams of the perfect someone to fall in love with and to settle down for a life together. Girls dream of white wedding with a beautiful array of flowers to just tie everything together. Lily Evans was no exception to this rule, of course. As she grew up, however, her taste changed. She no longer wished for the image of perfection in a person. Nah– what she wanted now was someone real. Lily is a strong and driven woman, which means that she will only be compatible with someone who can compliments her perks and flaws in the exact way that she wishes. As the war comes closer to her, Lily’s status begins to seep into every aspect of herself. She needs someone who’s willing to fight for the cause. Not for her, but because they feel the dire need to fight for justice. She needs someone strong in the times that she can’t be, and she needs someone who can make her smile in the darkest of moments. Lily needs someone who will push her limits and who wont let up until she succeeds, no matter how long that takes. She needs a human above all else, someone real. Someone who isn’t perfect and someone who isn’t afraid to be okay with not being all powerful. She needs someone who will share their insecurities with her, and someone whom she can feel comfortable in doing the same.
As the mun, if accepted, I just need someone who will spark her interests and who won’t be afraid to challenge her. She needs someone driven and someone who will be everything that she needs them to be, even without asking. I’m not going to list any specific ships or names here, but I am open to anything that Lily feels is right for her.
Find a gif or photograph of your FC: Her mood always depends on who she’s with. Lily has always been driven by her emotions, which means that if she likes you– then it’ll be clear to see by the expression that she has and the same goes on with if she does not like you. With that said, HERE is a visual representation of a gif of her usual mood, HERE is for when she’s excited, and HERE is her serious look. HERE is for her happy mood when she’s with someone she likes and/or feels comfortable with. HERE is a gif of when shes upset, HERE is one when shes angry and of course, HERE is one when she is with someone that she does not like in the slightest.
Give us the following head canons–
A.) What does your character do for a living?
Figuring out what to do with her life after graduating Hogwarts had, by far, been the most difficult decision. She had her talents that could place her in a various amount of careers. Did she want to take her potions charisma and put it towards good use at St. Mungos? Or would she rather work in a dedicated an intriguing situation such as the Unspeakables? Lily took her time in deciding before fully committing to one job. She asked her father for advice, but of course that didn’t help much. She then asked her friends as to what they would be doing with their lives, but in the end that just made her feel worse when she learned that others had their lives together and she still didn’t. Time passed, and Lily began doing research on various careers. She learned the rules and regulations for each profession that interested her and hen learned all the requirement that she would have to accomplish eventually.
It was on a cold spring afternoon a few days before graduating, did she finally decide. Her body was sprawled out on the grass as she watched the clouds overhead paint beautiful pictures before her eyes. It came as a slow realization that seemed so obvious in the end. She was going to fight. That would be her occupation. Now, of course, there isn’t exactly a payroll on that choice. Which made her brain work harder until she decided that yes—- she would become an auror. It was when she was halfway through the application for the ministry records, did Professor Dumbledore approach her. Words of her sheer determination and loud exclaims to anyone within ear shot that she, Lily Evans muggleborn and proud, would be fighting for her cause seemed to strike a cord in the elderly wizard. No matter the reason why, he invited her up to his office and explained to her the in and outs of the Order of the Phoenix. She could tell that he was serious in requesting her to fight along side with him and it was with great pleasure, and no real hesitation on her end, to sign her name down on the member cast.
Currently, she works both. Nights primarily with the Order, fighting and attending every single meeting that is taken place. She stands guard at various sites and fights when raids occur from the other side. Its her main occupation, she feels. The real one that she is dedicated to. Her day job, the auror field, is mainly for appearance purposes. It gives her money to pay rent and food while also gaining information when she can. She’s dedicated to doing both, even if one requires her to fill out boring paperwork all day long, with training routines shoved in whenever the head auror decides to put her to the test.
B.) What are your character’s prejudices?:
As hard as she tries to not judge others based on things out of their control, there is something that just weighs down on her mind and forces herself to think bad thoughts when it occurs. What might that be, one may ask? Well, Lily Evans cannot stand people who smoke. Now, most people would just assume that its just a dirty habit and she just doesn’t like the smell— but her insane judgement based off of smoking goes far deeper than that. When she sees someone smoking, she automatically turns her nose up at them, in a metaphorical fashion and literal. She seems someone puffing air out of their mouths and just automatically writes them off as, well not horrible people, but ones who just doesn’t care for themselves. Bad teeth and rotten breath, along with the superiority complex that comes with smokers, Lily just assumes that all those traits listed and more are what the person will have.
She doesn’t have a real reason as to why she thinks this way—- at least none that she’s aware of. No member of her family smokes. Though, her father often passed judgement onto smokers aloud when she was younger. The trail off thought that runs in the Evans household, on feeling annoyance towards those who sucks acid air into their lungs are obvious and spoken aloud without even a second thought. She writes people off, just like how others to do her and her blood status, when confronted with a smoker. It’s a horrid habit of hers, a deep prejudice that she holds in her mind without even being consciously aware of the hypocritical nature that comes with this thinking.
C.) What is your character’s favorite time of the year?
[ picspam/visual ] When the clouds go grey and the temperature drops, Lily’s smile just grows. She has always been a fan of winter, ever since she was a child. Everything good happens in winter, she supposes. Snow falls on her house and encases the world in a beautiful canvas of white. Her house becomes decorated with beautiful colors, and shows off the celebration that Christmas is swiftly approaching. The entire aesthetic of winter just warms her all the way to her core. Yes, its cold and yes, its wet—- but Lily doesn’t mind the downfalls that come with the season. Its the time of the year for giving and for spreading joy. Although that is pretty cliche’, Lily is, and always will be, a firm believer in spreading cheer to her loved ones.
Christmas. The holiday meant for families to come together to celebrate the fact that he end of the year is swiftly approaching. Hogwarts always celebrates the winter holiday spectacularly. Although she’s never spent the holiday inside the famed castle, Lily always appreciates watching everything come together flawlessly to create a new meaning to a magical winter wonderland. She spends the entire holiday with her family, as always. Its the time of the year where she makes an effort in getting along, although sometimes things doesn’t necessarily work out that way. Still– just being in the season creates such a joy inside of her, that Lily just can’t help but feel joy as she sees the first snowfall.
Do you have anything else you want to add about your character?:
HERE is my personal tag for her, which I post quotes, songs, pictures, ect that pertain to her muse.
Headcanon on death: It seems to be a human fear, to lie awake at night, eyes glazed over as the clock on the wall ticks loudly. Informing you of each second of your life that passes by without you even taking notice. Tick, tick, tick. Then, at some point, you fall asleep. For some people, they can feel the exact moment where they fall into the unknown. As their eyes rolls back into their skull and colors whirl brightly as a scenery of dreams begin to play. For others, they simply just wake up in the morning as the night barges in through a window. Head weary and slightly dazed upon the loss of memory of falling asleep. Its a natural occurrence, to drift off. Which is honestly how Lily views the morbid topic of death.
Lily takes pride in feeling not afraid of death. It happens to everyone. It happened to her gran when she was younger, and it happened to her cat in the summer after her sixth year at Hogwarts. Death is everywhere, it seems. It’s in the papers with a blurry photograph of a family who’s just been killed, and its in tears that soak her pillow at night when one of her own goes missing. Death cannot be escaped, not for real anyways. Lily’s not naive enough to think that she can outrun death, to live forever in peace. Though a huge part of her does hope that it doesn’t happen anytime soon. Its not death itself that she fears— its the unknown concept that comes with it. What happens to us after we leave? Sure, ghosts exist— but not everyone has an afterlife like that. Her body will go into the ground, six feet under. People may cry and others may celebrate. Whatever the occasion may be when her time comes, Lily just prays that the afterlife is better suited for harmony.. and her soul could rest as if she was simply dreaming forever with the clock above her head. Tick, tick, tick.
Headcanon ft living situation: After graduating from Hogwarts, Lily returned home to the muggle world for a while. Of course, while being accepted into the auror program and having to travel so far often, Lily knew that no matter how much she loved having a foot in both of her worlds— it just wasn’t working. She saved up every knut and galleon and eventually, she saved up just enough for a small flat in a small Wizarding town. the place itself is tiny, one bedroom but its pretty perfect for her. She has her own space, her own place to go and calm down to clear her head if required. While she lives alone, it never truly feels like it. Almost always having visitors, Lily enjoys where shes living at. It helps having her own place, considering her schedule is pretty much busy. At the end of the day, Lily loves where she is. She’s young, happy and living alone— and really, shes comfortable.
Headcanon ft biggest regret: Unfortunately for her, Lily is not one who can just live her life without regrets. Her mind constantly going over ‘what if’ scenarios in her head over and over as she lays awake at night until the morning light hits her window. Her biggest regret, though? She’s honestly not sure. Various different points of her life spark up at the question. Of course, she’s the only one in control to really label one as the worst decision and/or action that she did. However, Lily simply just doesn’t know. Most of her worries are years old now, however she simply just cannot do so. Words are easier said then done, after all.
The major scene that plays in her head— is the story of her sister. From Lily’s perspective, family is the most important thing. Throughout her entire childhood, Petunia was her life. Not just an older sister, but her best friend. One whom she confided in anything to. Of course, nothing lasts forever. Petunia, seemingly bitter that she did not get accepted into a magical school like Lily, seemed to take the entire scene personally. Shouting off harsh words and the young eleven year old. Of course, being a young child, Lily struck back. Read through the privacy of her diary, Lily learned Petunia’s true feelings towards Lily leaving… and what did she do? She told her other best friend, one whom would be attending the famed school with her. Of course, that didn’t go well, since before long– the truth came out into the open. Lily had invaded her trust, invaded on the most intimate moments of Petunia’s thoughts and then shot them back at her. The knowledge of Petunia sending mail to Professor Dumbledore…. begging to be invited to the school with Lily was made out into the open. Is that the source of the issues and harsh realities that still live within the Evans’ siblings to this day? Lily’s honestly not sure. Though she does know one thing— things got worse from that day. From that moment that she hurt Petunia, and ever since then her older sister has taken every opportunity to get Lily back for that.
Headcanon on expressing love?: Ever since she was a child, Lily has always been a vibrant oppressor for her feelings. Whether its anger or sadness, or happiness and everything in between. Its the way her family works, openly expressing with hugs, kisses or with shouts of anger. It’s not exactly what one would call normal, but either way– Lily grew up thinking that this was the way to express herself and that by expressing herself, she was doing what is right. She doesn’t hold back her feelings, even when she properly should. It’s a problem, but not really one that she would want to solve. One would know right away if Lily doesn’t like them. She doesn’t make a point to beat around the bush. Nah– she’s an open book, really. Displaying her raw emotions for the world to see.
With love, however, everything is just so intimate. Which is why Lily doesn’t understand why others often feel discomfort, at her actions. If she loves you then great! Good for you, but be prepared to be on the receiving end on various affections. Romantic love and platonic love are two very separate things for Lily Evans, but they pretty much both mean the same in regards to showing. If she loves you in a platonic way, then there is a high chance that their will be rumors tomorrow that she’s dating you, regardless of gender. If she actually is dating you, then prepare yourself, because she will make sure that everyone knows that you are hers. No exceptions to these rules, really. Which is a pain for whomever ends up with her, since it’ll still look like she’s dating everyone.
Hugs being the primary factor. Of course, she gives hugs to those closest to her; when saying goodbye or in greeting, In excitement or just plainly whenever she bloody well feels like giving you a hug. It’s just wasting time trying to fight her on this. Once she’s got her eyes on you and has mentally deciding that she’s giving a hug, one should just accept that fate.
Her secondary notion, being far less acceptable really, is kisses. Now, she doesn’t exactly full blown kiss one of her friends on the lips at every passing moment. Though with that said, if she feels it–– she’ll give you one anyways. Once she feels the love between you two, whether it be by the spark of a conversation, in excitement, but well just becausedamn you look fine, Lily’s swooping in for that smooch. She doesn’t bother asking for permission, of course. So just prepare yourself for it anyways.
Another notion if she adores the shit out of you, will be with hand-holding. Now many people just think of this as a childish notion, but to her– it runs much more deeper. It means that she wants to feel connected with you always. She wants to feel the sweat of your palms, and she wants to feel the step in your walk. She’ll do this primarily when walking to class in the early mornings, considering she is not a morning person and she just wants love.
Headcanon on Mirror of Erised: Her reflection of a lone girl with dark red hair and a neutral expression slowly morphs into something that takes her a few blinks to recognize. She shifts her feet, balancing her weight now on her left heal rather than her right. Her eyes widen, as her lips slowly turn upwards into a sad smile. Before her, are two girls. A tall woman, with luxurious blond hair flowing past her shoulders. Her height is the first noticeable thing, having been very much taller than the other one. Her eyes are soft and looking down at the smaller one with such affection that it nearly makes Lily gasp aloud. Around her neck is a beautiful necklace, with lace embroidery and small pearls to bring it all together. Her grandmothers necklace, her mind whispers at her. Next to the blond girl, Petunia, is herself. Her eyes are energetic and her face is beaming upwards. She’s got a ring on her finger, which doesn’t make much sense to her at this time. The two are just standing side-by-side, with love obviously flowing between them.
Wood: Willow. “Willow is an uncommon wand wood with healing power, and I have noted that the ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it. While many confident customers insist on trying a willow wand (attracted by their handsome appearance and well-founded reputation for enabling advanced, non-verbal magic) my willow wands have consistently selected those of greatest potential, rather than those who feel they have little to learn. It has always been a proverb in my family that he who has furthest to travel will go fastest with willow.” Many things could be said about Lily Evans. Her kind demeanor and her ability to deal with everything that gets thrown at her, are the two that spring to be commented on most often. She stands proud in public at the notion of harsher slurs, and her academics has always shown that she’s a very capable witch. Still, however, she’s not super-human. She bleeds when hurt and she doesn’t always stay as confident as she would like in the face of danger. Her insecurities run as deep as her magic and she’s found over the years that it’s not exactly something to be ashamed of. Her magic sensed her personality from the moment she touched her wand. It sensed her potential an her magical strength and took into effect of all her flaws as well as her talents. It’s an odd wand wood, sure. Though Lily feels as though it fits her seamlessly. [ quote source ]
Core: Dragon Heartstring. Of course it came as no surprise to anyone as it was noted that her willow wand was intertwined the the common core. “Symbolizes Power and Wisdom. Those who are strong, wise, compassionate, dedicated, relentless, resilient, bold, strong-minded, head-strong, powerful, ambitious, highly determined and driven (to obsessive), have strong desire and/or stubborn would have this wand core. Having such a wand core suggests that you can be bossy at times, but also have a fiery disposition and have firm convictions, which will lead you down the road to leadership, as well as being devoted and selfless.” It’s not a huge secret that Lily Evans is a powerful witch. As a child, her accidental magic had always been extraordinary. Her passion would drive her magic to create things at her every whim, while her determined nature always run through her magic of deeply even before she knew she even had magical powers. The traits above mimic her positive traits seamlessly, and it was almost as if her wand could sense her future that she was granted this core to control her magical strength. [ quote source ]
Length & flexibility: Unyielding with 10 ¼ inches long.
Patronus: Lily will never be able to forget the day that she first saw her corporal patronus. Standing in a murky classroom, with the lights bearing down over-head. Her head had hurt from exhaustion, and for trying just so damned hard. Her hands were clenched tightly around her wand, and her eyes were narrowed and staring at the blank space before her. Her eyes closed slowly and the scene before her danced like firelight. Petunia smiling at her, radiantly. Her wedding gown touching the floor and bringing a whole new meaning to the word, ‘beautiful’. It had been the first time all summer that they hadn’t bickered or fought. She had even asked Lily to come along, by herself. Without their mum goading her into it. She could see it, perfectly in her mind as Petunia was finally happy, and for once, Lily was around to see it. With a mutter of the incantation, a large and bright Doe appeared from the tip of her wand. “The doe is a soft and innocent patronus to have, and those with it reflect this greatly. They have a comforting, almost maternal way about them, and it can draw many to them, and this can cause them to have many friends and admirers.” The description of the said patronus mirrors Lily’s personality seamlessly. She cares, greatly, for those around her. She’s good at dealing with inner conflicts and adores helping others in need. Much can be said about Lily Evans, but of course— her positive keys of her personality are what is said most often. [ Quote source ]
Boggart: Corporal form: Phobia’s tend to be a more state of mind than anything else. They are something that makes you freeze in fear while your heart pumps more swiftly than it had prior. For Lily, her irrational fear had always been with spiders. The eight-legged animal with huge eyes that crawl on her skin. She hates them, every single different type. Her mother had often told her how good it was that spiders exist, for all the work they do getting rid of other insects. Lily still can’t see her mother’s point of view on that topic, however.
What her fear actually is: With hushed slurs and hateful stares, muggleborn’s have to endure agony from the pureblood supremacists above them. Always thinking themselves of superior because of the blood that flows through their veins. Children as young as eleven gets thrust into a world completely brand new to them. Of course, fairy-tales and happily ever after’s do not actually exist, for them anyways. One would think that being in a world filled with mermaids, and bewitched broomsticks, people would be open to any possibilities. Childlike fantasies don’t last long here unfortunately. For those whom are able to avoid life’s cruel sting, they may last a while in ignorance. Though who are not so lucky may even have the prejudice thrown across them as soon as possible.
For Lily, she had always thought of herself as gifted. Arriving at Hogwarts had been the greatest thing in the world, and never did she think that a place where she can live in a castle would have a darker side. She didn’t realize until she was a bit older how how deep the prejudice against her ran. Mudblood. The slur that can cut deep into the hearts and fill the void with which bigotry. Some people, the one’s who don’t understand, just scoff and remark that ‘its just a word’. Yet, that word, and the harsh mentalities behind said word, run deep. So deep that it can be the cause of murders and killings against innocents. Reading about new families of muggleborns being killed left and right, doesn’t do anything to calm her nerves. Lily would write home to her parents, pretending everything is happy and okay here in her new world. While always having that constant dark cloud of terror sweep over her, as she memorizes those names that end up forgotten. Her people, the ones who never get justice are the ones who suffer. Shes terrified, not just for herself, but for those whom she loves most. Would she be the cause of their death one day? Would she be able to save them, if someone just outright attacked them for not having magic and for spouting off a magical child? The questions linger deep inside of her mind, as she stares unblinkingly into the night sky.
Paragraph sample. Your character unmasks a Death Eater and it’s someone they know.
Lily’s wand was gripped tightly in her hand. The whites of her knuckles shone brightly, contrasting the smoke seamlessly. Her eyes darted around, just waiting for something to pop out. Nothing did, of course. Which set her on edge more than anything else. The fighting had been going on more for at least four hours now. The muggle watch on her wrist had long since busted, but Lily didn’t particularly care anymore. She was ready to leave, to go home and take a shower. To wash the blood and dirt from underneath her fingernails and to wash away the horrors from this night. Moody hadn’t given the signal yet, even though things have now fallen silent. She wondered why that was—- before remembering that just because things were quiet, didn’t mean they were safe.
A blast went off in the distance. a loud rumble cursed the ground and Lily quickly turned her head in the direction. She didn’t move a muscle other then that. Didn’t even place her feet differently, to ensure that she didn’t snap a twig or make noise. Nah, if the enemy as silent, then she would be that and more. Her eyes remained trained on the new blast, however. The night sky lit up only for a moment when the flames erupted from the blast. More smoke and dust blew into the air, nearly blocking the entire view. A wordless cry escaped her lips as she watched the only remained building, which wasn’t in the best condition in the first place, fall with grace to the ground. Her heart fell with the building and the significance that followed. A lot of destruction had taken place in this night alone. Why on this ordinary Thursday, did the world decide to fall apart at the seams for a lone muggle town? Populated only five hundred, though she assumed that the number would be much lower when dawn broke.
As her eyes were occupied on the horizon, a spell broke free from behind her and grazed her neck. With a soft cry, of more surprise than hurt, Lily spun on her heals. She didn’t even know the direction that it had come from exactly, but she flicked her wrist and let a hot spike of a cutting hex burst free from the tip of her wand. The opposing wizard shot back, which was expected. Her neck, now openly bleeding, burned fiercely. Lily’s eyes watered even though her brain forced her to remain focused on the topic at hand. Her wand continuously threw every spell that shone brightly in her mind. It took her back to those stuffy afternoons in the defense against the dark arts classroom, learning harsh hexes that she prayed she would never use. They were a waste of breath looking back now, to pray to remain innocent in a world filled to the brim with violence. The dueling continued on, the person shot spells off and colors whirled by her that she couldn’t even name. They were dark, harsher magic then she was openly used to. It scared her, chilled her all the way down her spine. The goosebumps on her arms arose from the hot air, and her footing remained strong even when standing on heaps of rubble. In the heat of the moment, Lily then shot off two spells directly after another. the bursts of light swiftly following the other, almost looking as if it was one spell. It hit her target, dead on. Although she couldn’t see with her own eyes, she could hear the direct thud of a body falling to the ground.
Time stood still when that occurred. Lily even held her breath, not wanting to make any noise at all. She was standing upright, exposed to the world. Vulnerable with her neck bleeding out, and her side bursting with unexpected pain. No movement happened after that, from either side. The wounded person didn’t make any noise, which made her feel nervous for no reason at all. Why weren’t they moving? It’s not as if she shot off the killing curse, after all. Lily waited, before taking a tiny step forward. the soft crinkle beneath her boots could be heard loudly to her over exhausted eardrums. She prayed that she was the only one who thought she was being loud. Her wand was cutting into her palm now, from gripping to tightly. The grooves would probably be still etched into her skin in the morning because of it. Still— she moved forward. Her mind replaying the scene of Moody directly in front of her before this horror had happened, him stating directly to the entire order to capture as many as possible. The more they take down, the more people we can save. Her mind continued on with that thought, playing it before her eyes so she had something else to focus on.
Her footsteps continued to feel loud as she inched her way closer to the unnamed death eater. Her breath coming out now in harsh weight, the sweat from her brow dipping into her eyes. She wondered if she was walking to her death, to a person playing dead for her to come closer and to take the kill. She wondered if it would be her name etched in ink on the front of the Daily Prophet tomorrow. She didn’t have long to inquire further on that morbid thought, before she saw the body. From the stature, she could tell they were a man. Broad shoulders and a body dressed completely in black robes. Lily pushed on, until she was directly next to him. She halted in mid step and simply w a i t e d. Her eyes, now adjusted to the darkness, watched his chest rise. He was breathing, but it was shallow. She wondered how good she had cut him, before remembering that it didn’t really matter. The mask was gleaming before her. The shine and the structure laying their—- taunting her. Mudblood. Her blood boiled at all the times that she had seen that mask, and those identical to it. She sucked in her breath, and with a quick flick of her wrist, she pushed the mask clean off of the man’s face. It was then, that the blood ran from her face. A raspy gasp left her lips as she stared down to the man at her feet.
