Two-versus-two tag-team fighting game Saturday AM: Battle Manga announced - Gematsu
Son Studios, the studio behind the upcoming anime-inspired arena fighting game Netcode Warriors, have announced Saturday AM: Battle Manga, a two-versus-two tag-team fighting game featuring characters from Saturday AM manga like Apple Black, Clock Striker, Massively Multiplayer World of Ghosts, and Soul Beat. Platforms and a release date were not announced, but all major console and PC platforms are under consideration.
“For eleven years, Saturday AM has focused on crafting deep stories with fresh perspectives from a range of nationalities and cultures,” said Saturday AM founder and publisher Frederick L. Jones in a press release. “Anime aside, there is something so rich about giving our fans a chance to interact with our characters in such a dynamic, interactive manner as a videogame and we’re thrilled to do so with an amazing group like Son Studios.”
Son Studios CEO and game director Jesse Segun-Oside added, “The tag fighter space is one I’ve loved since childhood and always dreamed of leading a project in. Kicking things off with these characters is the perfect way to bring that vision to life—with impact.”
Here is an overview of the game, via Son Studios:

🌟👑 CAST YOUR (FINAL) VOTE 👑🌟
It’s here!! The FINAL round of the Saturday AM magazine “March Art Madness” contest!!
After 5 whole weeks of fighting to keep our places in the competition, it’s all come down to a four-way head-to-head – so here’re a few close ups of what I drew for our toughest challenge yet! 🌟👀
Each and every one of us who are still standing worked super, SUPER hard to turn out some properly knockout pieces for the final, so if you do take a gander at the gallery – (which I hope ya do! Y’all’s votes have had SUCH a massive impact all throughout the contest so far) – please make sure to take everybody’s work into proper consideration rather than just chucking a vote my way without actually looking around 🙏🏻💖
No matter who takes the crown in the end though, I’m super proud just to have made it this far, and super proud of the artworks I managed to crank out within the tight timeframes that made this contest so challenging! (This was probably the most character-packed piece I've worked on in nearly a year, and I somehow managed to crank it out in ~3 days! I am gonna sleep SO well tonight lmao 😅🛌🏻)
Thanks so much again to all of y'all who've been voting in the surveys each week up 'til now, it's truly been such a heartwarming thrill to be able to keep competing all the way to the finish line 💖
👑🏆Gonna post the full-sized version of this artwork once the results come in on Monday, but in the meantime you can see everyone’s art in full & vote to crown the winner right now over at www.saturday-am.com/madness ! 🏆👑
(Voting for this round closes ~8pm EST this Sunday (10th April 2022))
When it comes to finding unique or diverse artstyles the best way is to just to browse. I've found plenty here that I like but I guess you could also check out saturday am. The book store near me just stocked books from them. I got the second volume of clockstricker and my first volume of apple black along with this annual collection of stories they have by different artist. I would've gotten gunhild but they only fave volume 2 for some reason and I haven't read volume 1. There are other comics I'd like to try after I've finished reading those though.
