Transformers as a franchise is so funny because it genuinely has one of the most interesting/engaging/ tragic stories about war, betrayal, personhood, abuse and trauma but it was all made for the sole purpose of explaining why robots are fighting on earth and need spunky 80’s teenagers to help them play basketball sometimes

Honestly most unrealistic thing about this season is that a job stealing Robot exists in New York and it took five whole episodes for someone to throw it off a roof
Imagine you’re working this shitty retail job for an unbearable amount of hours with no other coworkers. Suddenly, a cop throws in two guys who he says are gonna work with you. They say no, they’re actually supposed to see the president. You show them the break room and they dismantle your microwave because apparently it has like, the map to the city of gold or something. So you help them stowaway on a train going directly into the depths of the Amazon rainforest. You crash, you get lost, see weird animals n shit, and then suddenly meet like. King Arthur. And this Arthur guy tells you that your wagie job is ACTUALLY a secret ploy by the president who allied with Conquistadors from 500 years ago and you’re supposed to have superpowers but your president stole them from you to invent classism.
So you get kidnapped but that’s the least of you worries rn because The President just found you, and you go back to your stupid wagie city, one of your new coworkers is suddenly talking about killing the bourgeois, blows your other new coworker to smithereens, which is okay because he then comes back to life as the new president (which is pretty good because the old one got publicly executed thirty seconds earlier) and now you’re in the secret service.
It has been two days. You’re not even sure if you got fired.
And your hands can turn into knives.

It’s flying right over. Alina literally CRIED almost every time she was with him Ohhhh my god this is NOT what a normal 16 year old boy acts like guys he’s a PSYCHOPATH
I'm sorry to say that but it is, you know? And you see it in their reactions. It happens to every teen girl. And it happens precisely because they are like this. And they don't mean it maliciously, the narrator didn't do it cause he was a psycho. He did it cause he thought and was taught that's how men and women work.
It was all clear when they said "16yo wife cheated on 50+yo husband cause she didn't get satisfied". It's a child. She was abused. And it flies over the narrators head he only thinks oh if it was Alina that'd be awful CAUSE ONLY I SHOULD TOUCH HER. And then he does just the thing the old husband did. They are all the same. I am not for "all men" or terf bullshit. Im truly not. Not a separatist or a radfem and I won't ever stand for that. It's just. I know it happened to me and I know it happened to every single one of my friends and my gf and sister and mother and grandmother and great grandmother and and and. We live in rape culture. This text did what borrasca could only dream of with its shock effect ending that falls flat. This is a well written actually thoughtful story for once.
And these men, they didn't even understand it. They can read all the pastas but they aren't fit for literature with a message it turns out.
Originally wasn’t gonna reblog because while I think the narrator IS being presented as a special case (as every together teen boy in the story either never went back to the bells or is on Alina’s side directly except for Rob) the point was kind of moot, as you really said a lot of what I thought. But I AM reblogging because I’m glad to finally see another Borassca shock-value truther. Like the story scared me when I read it because it was gross, but after reading part VI and thinking about it as a whole….my god it really is just nothing is it? There’s so much innate horror to being in a town that trades and breeds women like it’s NOTHING, but the author seems wholly uninterested in exploring it because it might give away “the twist” too early, and ruin the shock of “OH MY GOD ITS RAPE!!!!!”. It’s disappointing to see how many Creepypastas and horror writings in general take advantage of how taboo abuse is to make it some scary thing, when the real horror comes from those who perpetrate it. It’s not just Borassca either, so many stories do it and lowkey I’m so done 😭 I’d take Willy Wonka’s alien burger factory over a thinly veiled peep show any day. Shoutout to Spire in the Woods for actually doing something with it.

Watching a deleted scene abt Katniss and Rue thinking of how her family in district 11 must feel. Your 12 year old daughter is torn away from you and everybody knows there’s no chance of her winning but she meets this older tribute and they talk and laugh and joke and you see Twelve do everything in her power to save and protect your baby. This potential threat becomes the person who gives you hope that maybe, possibly, your little girl can come home and you watch it all on live TV. Probably more than every other family, probably waiting for the shoe to drop and the betrayal to come but it just doesn’t and this District 12 girl runs yelling through the woods to get your child out a trap. And when the time comes, she sings her to sleep before screaming and crying over her corpse, probably sharing the reaction with you, and covering her in flowers.

Back in my Hunger Games era and I see a lot of people talking about how Katniss isn’t the *real* Mockingjay, it was Rue or Haymitch or some past rebel. But tbh when you think about what a Mockingjay is, it makes sense that it’s Katniss. A Mockingjay is a bird that takes a sound and repeats it. The rebellion was never her message, but she was able to spread it to such a scale it couldn’t be ignored. Katniss’s role in the rebellion was to be their Mockingjay.

can someone pls tell me an easy way to read the transformers comics since i’m having a hard time locating them and knowing where to start, i love comics sm and i want more transforms content that isn’t the God awful Michael Bay films plsplsplsplsplspls
Okay just trying this out. First off we got the IDW comics. These comics were multiple different stories running at the same time under IDW. There are some collections online, but often the collections have different chapters of the different stories and its bullshit. In those collections there are usually a table of contents that show what chapters of what stories are in what collections. It’s just a hassle to read if you don’t know how. So an IDW comic collection would look like
Chapter 1-3 (Story #1)
Chapter 1-2 (Story #2)
Chapter 3-5 (Story #1)
Chapter 2-7 (Story #2)
It’s annoying af 😭 but makes sense after a while. A lot of IDW comics are made by different authors and illustrators with different styles and takes. There isn’t a lot of continuity and you could jump in at Chapter one of any story. The easiest one I’ve found is at ReadAllComics.com, because it’s hard as hell to find actual digital versions of IDW comics.
IDW comics have been discontinued for a while after IDW lost the rights to transformers. Ownership was given to Skybound, which is only one continuous story.
Skybound comics are still in printing, with shorter comics being compiled into larger books when enough are published. Once again, ReadAllComics.com is my lifeline. Though others might find better websites for it. Anyway have fun with transformers. 👍
For the record the comics are much less kid-friendly. Just putting that out there.
