The humble, complex, tempestuous #AppleCiderDoughnut. I took a crack at these last week and failed miserably. Last night and this morning, back in my home kitchen, armed with a wok, clip thermometer, a nifty new bench scraper, and the can-do to make it happen, I tried again. Y’all. These are very good. Of course anything deep fried and rolled in sugar isn’t gonna be terrible but I’m so so happy with how these turned out. I did see!! I've accepted that for personal reasons I would never be 100% satisfied with whoever they pick—i.e. I am far too close to be objective; that person will never be Phil so I'll always have something to nitpick—but that is my baggage to deal with lol

Aside from that I've loved Jesse in most everything he's done and think he's a great choice—a little older than I was picturing, but he'll probably be playing younger and make it work! Would've been neat to see a younger, lesser-known actor too but I would also find something to complain about there lmao <3
