🐾          ❝ Regina, I don’t know what you want me to say. ❞ Things were still rocky between the townsfolk and the ( former ) Evil Queen, their trust in her so fragile it might be severed with a passing gust ( and rightly so, considering her laundry list of vile transgressions ). Even Ruby, with all the kindness in her heart, found herself questioning Regina’s motives, innate faith in goodness and change tempered by a healthy ( and expected ) degree of doubt. ❝ You’re frustrated, I get it ... but you have to give everyone time. Yeah, it would be easier if gaining their trust was instantaneous, but ... it doesn’t work like that. People don’t work like that, and the more you push, the more reluctant they’ll be. ❞ The former sovereign and mayor was so used to others bowing to her whims, offering blind devotion in their fear, but after all she’d done ---- the atrocities committed during her reign, casting the dark curse ---- the townsfolk had no more to give, least of all the terror she’d once craved.

“Are you alright there?” Sol called over. The rain had really come down quite hard, quite suddenly. There were plenty of people on the street who had been unprepared for it. He was just grateful that he’d had an umbrella in his backpack. “Here--” He jogged over and held his umbrella over them. “I’ve got you.”

Emma and Killian were planning to return back to Storybrooke to set out their lives, it wasn’t in the Enchanted Forest and it was never GOING to be. But knowing that Henry wanted to stay meant she needed to have a little CHAT with his other mother. Making her way through the castle, Emma knew exactly where to find Regina, out on the balcony where she could WATCH OVER everyone. No more curses, no more pain. It was going to be a happy life. Hopefully. “Regina, can we talk? it’s about Henry.”

Pitch walked along the roof tops of a small town, watching his nightmares spread fear to the children. Daenerys knew she was no longer in the privacy of her chambers, nor in any place she remotely recognized. The queen looked around in silent confusion, uncertain of what fate had come upon her now. 

One moment she had been speaking to Jon, and then there had been this glorious, yet unearthly light. It shimmered, created waves upon the surface and fearlessly, she had walked towards it, meaning to touch only. The next moment, she had travelled here to this unknown place. 

When she noticed another individual in her peripheral vision, Daenerys turned slowly to face this person. The other’s strange attire did nothing to halt her in her attempts to gain clarity. “What is this place?” she asked, a regal sound to her voice as she lifted her chin, not wanting to appear weak when faced with an unknown threat. “I do not recognize this kingdom.”

Emma hadn’t expected herself to be so TRANSPARANT, but apparently Regina wasn’t fooled for a minute. At the mention of this not being a hypothetical question, the blonde swallowed down her rising nerves at the idea of someone else possibly finding out about the abnormal connection between her PARABATAI and herself. They weren’t supposed to fall in love, after all, and although Regina wasn’t exactly a member of the Clave, Emma still didn’t want her to know about the crimes Julian and her had committed in being lovers.

Even so, the Shadowhunter knew Regina was the best bet in undoing Magnus’ spell. And so she had no choice but to come here. Listening closely, she sighed with a hint of disappointment at the mention of true love’s kiss. Julian had kissed her, even nearly made love to her if it hadn’t been for the fact Emma saw the calculated look in his eyes on time. Everything was done with a reason now, a way of gaining advantage in every situation and relationship. Julian had becoming a cunning, manipulative person. It was a side to him she had seen only when he needed to protect his family, but now– Now, it was HIM, not just a means to an end anymore. It shattered whatever was left of her broken heart whenever she saw this.

“I’ve tried to make him feel…” she trailed off in a whisper, betraying herself in a moment of weakness. Realizing that she had confirmed this not being just a random issue she brought to Regina, the blonde chastised herself mentally, before figuring it wouldn’t be too bad if she just told tiny parts of the story, leaving out the part about her and Julian having fallen in love.

“It’s Jules. He’s not himself anymore.”
