Just in case you were wondering.... I’m STILL harvesting guavas and the tree is STILL flowering for yet another cycle. It’s going on close to a year that these guavas have been producing non stop!!! I wish I knew what exactly it is that I’m doing that’s causing this. I’m definitely not complaining 🤤 over 300 people confirmed that these are the best guavas they’ve ever had. Probably native to Cantral America and southern Mexico. The guava has been dispersed throughout tropical and subtropical regions of three American continent by animals and humans for millennia. Spanish and Portuguese traders took seeds to Africa and Asia. Guavas are rich in pectin and can easily be made into jellies, jams, and marmalade’s. To obtain the juice, the fruit is boiled and the seeds strained. The resulting juice is used to flavor drinks, ice cream, yogurt, and sodas. The pulp is used in many desert recipes such as cake fillings, chutneys, pies and relishes. Guavas are a great source of vitamin C and are rich in other fibers and minerals like potassium and manganese, vitamin A, and folic acid. They also contain high amounts of caratenoids and polyphenols, which act like antioxidant in humans. The leaves have been used extensively in traditional medicine to treat digestive disorders and inflammation. ・・・ #growninhaiti #guava #psidiumguajava #appleguava #haiti #ayiti #abundance #foodforest #reforestation #preservation #agroforestry #plantedfromseed #tropicalfruit #treeripened #freshlyharvested #gardenfresh #snacktime #munchies https://www.instagram.com/p/B7Oh0GSlze0/?igshid=1f37wqzkmu4x2
