AppleMedia Week 2024 - Day 2: One Bed/Roommates

Blame Game

“This is your fault,” Alastor accused, his flicking ears broadcasting his irritation.

“What? How is it my fault?” Vox demanded defensively. 

“Well…” Lucifer hedged, and the television demon spun to face him in disbelief. “You said you took care of the reservation,” he pointed out, holding up his hands apologetically. 

“I said my people took care of the reservation!” he corrected. “They said they got us the last available room. They failed to mention that it was…” He waved his hand in front of them. 

“One bed,” Lucifer finished for him with a sigh.

“I thought we would be staying in two rooms,” Alastor complained as he walked over to take a seat on the plush armchair in the corner of the room.

Vox raised an eyebrow at him. “Did you not hear me say they got us the last room? This place booked up fast, what with the festivities and all that.”

“Hmm. Then it sounds like someone should have told us about it sooner.” He shifted his attention to the only other person in the room he could dump blame onto.

Lucifer immediately bristled, crossing his arms. “It slipped my mind! But by all means, if sharing a bed is too much for you, then go back to the hotel. Vox and I will enjoy this vacation without you!” 

Alastor scowled. “Fine. Congratulations, Vox, your little plan worked. We’re all sharing the bed!”

“I told you, I didn’t plan this,” Vox insisted.

“Oh?” he smirked as he rose to his feet, sidling up to Vox until their faces were mere inches from each other. “So you’re not thrilled at the idea of being sandwiched between Lucifer and myself in bed for a week? I find that unlikely.” 

Vox licked his lips, unable to hold back a cheeky grin. “Doesn’t mean I planned it.”

“Hmm.” He regarded him through narrowed eyes for a couple seconds more before he abruptly turned away. “I’m going to take a shower. Do respect my privacy.” He gave a pointed look to both Vox and Lucifer (mostly Vox), then retreated into the bathroom. 

“Sooo…” Lucifer leaned into Vox’s side, slipping an arm around his waist. “Did you plan it?”

Vox rolled his eyes, fixing the king with a wide smile. “Now, Luci, does that sound like something I would do?” he asked innocently.

“Yes,” he answered without hesitation.

Vox just laughed as he pulled him into a kiss. This vacation was going to be perfect.

This was originally for Day 2, but I realized it would fit Day 7 more vnndncnf anyways, Alastor wants to read the World's Greatest Disasters in History, his favorite being The Stock Market Crash of 1929 (so many orphans)
