Random thing that hit me again, but secret love of Attie's that they'd never admit to:

When their partner runs their thumb over their bottom lip before kissing them

Suddenly hit with the image of Modern AU thing

Attie on their motorcycle with Julian behind them, clinging to their waist for dear life as they go pretty speedy. He trusts them but it doesn’t change the fact that his point of grounding is significantly smaller than him

Attie and Dillion’s kids are almost as bad as they were when they were growing up when they’re together/one of them is babysitting for the other when it comes to shenanigans. It’s mainly pulling small pranks on the babysitter with new magical developments they might not know about/things their parent doesn’t know about. The kids don’t pull pranks on each other, but they still get into just as much trouble

Dillion drops Attie’s daughter off back at their place with a bruise on his forehead and he’s just like “Did you know Calla can make things float now? Tell Julian or he might panic” and leaves them to have that conversation for themself

Attie brings Jace back to Dillion’s place and a streak of their hair is just a bright orange and Attie’s less helpful with a “Have fun figuring that out”/shit-eating grin before they leave a distressed Dillion to go to Asra for help

Merfolk AU Thought:

Attie grinning really wide to show off very, very sharp teeth as a mild intimidation tactic but also because they just really love the look on people’s faces

[A thing inspired by something from work]

Once when Calla was still very young, she was playing with a small trinket Attie and Julian were going to buy her at the market. When Julian took it from her long enough to pay for it, she was crying before he even gave it back to her. Attie was carrying her at the time and just held her closer, laughing only a little before they started to soothe her, in a voice to show her that she was okay and nothing was wrong. Julian only panicked a little bit as he gave her back the trinket before he ruffled Calla’s hair, joining Attie in the soothing as they walked to a quieter part of the market to calm her down. It was a little silly, but they were both focused on getting her calm more than anything else.

Oh boy

If Attie sees Dillion being pestered by other merfolk, they’ll swim up behind Dillion and put an arm around his shoulders with a “sup, cousin?” and flash their teeth at those bothering him.

If they don’t get uneasy and leave him alone just from that Attie’s not afraid to bite them to make them go away.

Dillion still very much does not like going into darker/deeper waters, and Attie lightly teases him about it

D: “Have you seen the fish down there?!” / A: “I’m scarier.”

Attie finds pretty shells to give to Dillion so he can make jewelry

I guess Attie would be allergic to jellyfish stings? So Dillion is always on the eye out for them and warns them before they can get stung

If they’re hanging out, he carries something on them to help just in case

Attie also keeps something to help either in a bag if they need it or just straps it to their tail

Dillion being the overly worried party when Attie swims too close to the surface

They call each other stupid insults when they’re angry at each other, main go-tos being “seagull” and “starfish”

Both of them rolling their eyes at any questions of “you two look so different, how can you be cousins?” if it even comes up

A: “We’re COUSINS, not siblings.” / D: “We’d have too much power if we were siblings.”

Putting sea weed on each other to be a pest

Dillion avoids putting anything in Attie’s hair though because he knows they’ll kill him if he does

Finding all of the hidden places to hang out in and talk, like coves, caves, almost collapsed rubble, etc.

Hitting each other with their tails if one of them is being annoying

Dillion does this to Attie more just because his is bigger

Gotta get that height difference in there somehow

Merfolk AU thought

Keeping with Dillion’s leg, his tail is a little bit crooked from being broken badly when he was young. He can still swim perfectly fine, he just gets sore and has to slow down, especially after swimming through strong waters

In a verse where both Attie and Dillion are parents:

They share tips all the friggin’ time about what they’re doing for parenting. If one of them needs a babysitter, the other is almost always there to take care of the other’s kid for however long is needed. They absolutely adore each others kids and definitely spoil the hell out of them when they’re babysitting, and if they move away from each other, visiting. They both just love them and each other so much that they’re taking the chance to stay in each others lives as much as they can, since Attie and Dillion didn’t get as much of a chance for that growing up.
