ALONE in AMSTERDAM 

Day 3 (April 21st, 2017)

On my 3rd day, I was trusted to go out on my own and explore Amsterdam by myself where I went to a delicious cafe and ate the biggest meringue paired with the strongest coffee, went to a “coffee shop” to simply draw other people smoking weed and playing chess, admired the beauty of the houseboats and canals, got super lost and had to find my way back, gawked at the street fair, visited the Eye Film Institute, and eventually met another American from New Mexico while eating Dutch Pancakes for dinner.

Denim friendly. When you have a casual workplace, it pays to have denim-friendly pieces to pull outfits together quickly. This outfit is is a good example. It starts with a pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans (originally $158, on sale for $35). By adding a pair of blue Coach sneakers (or as they were called in CA, tennis shoes) and a blue & white jacket, the outfit easily transitions into a casual-yet-professional ensemble. The J. Crew jacket never made it into rotation last year. It came from the outlet and was about $25. It's great having denim- friendly pieces but even better when they are budget-friendly.
