BOSS HAIR black and his daughter, circa 1900. Chief Crow (Apsáalooke) (1849-1905) posed with Mary Cabello black (1896-1953) at the Black Lodge District on the Crow Reservation in eastern Montana ... The chief's eagle feather fan and numerous armino pendants indicated he was a person of prestige ... Mary's dress was embellished with moose ivories (moose have two teeth made of ivory) ... Photographer Fred E. Miller had married a Native woman and was adopted by the Crow tribe in 1905 ... His photographs gained recognition with the 1985 publication of “Fred E. Seven Teepees 

were put up on the rims in Billings Montana by the Pretty Shield Foundation and Rocky Mountain Tribal Leaders council as a symbol of hope and a memorial to all those who have passed on in 2020. In the Apsáalooke way the teepee is our second mother who takes care of us and all who enter are blessed with good fortune and feeling!
