Today’s #SundaySelfie is from theoretical astro|physicist Dr. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein with her undergraduate mentor, Prof. Melissa Franklin, that she shared on Twitter while at the American Physical Society meeting back in January. It’s also a #Sun-day post because of Chanda’s radiant* Dawa earrings (no longer available from @beyondbuckskin unfortunately, but there is a beautiful beaded northern star necklace!).
Dawa (also spelled Tawa) is the Hopi Sun spirit, who formed the First World and its original inhabitants from endless space. Chanda also shared a photo of her wearing the earrings while answering questions during a her talk at the APS April meeting (which happens in January sometimes!).
