No one asked for my opinion but I’m going to give it anyway.
Yes Galleria just wanted what was best for The Cheetah Girls but she didn’t have to be such an ass about it. She let the fame that she didn’t even have yet completely get to her head and the other cheetahs were right to be upset about her attitude.
In the second movie however, they were definitely doing too damn much and needed to get their heads in the game.
Aro-ace Galleria who doesn’t understand how anyone could put dating over following your dreams.
Aro-ace Galleria who meets a few guys she connects with over their shared love of music, but never develops feelings for them apart from mutual respect and possibly friendship.
Aro-ace Galleria who learns that friendship is the most important thing in the world, and that just because she can live the rest of her life without romance, doesn’t mean she has to live the rest of her life alone.
Lesbian Chanel who will never understand how or why her mother falls so head over heels for men, but supports her anyway.
Lesbian Chanel who gets distracted in Spain by the cute singer who shares her native tongue, and finds a connection she’s never felt before.
(Her name is Marisol, and the feeling is mutual, but her mother is in control of the whole thing. She urges Marisol closer to Chanel, but warns her not to get too close, as the last thing Lola wants is for her to have a “controversial image.”)
Lesbian Chanel who invites her crush to sing and dance with her one last time, and Marisol, who is newly liberated from her mother, who is now free to live life as she chooses, and come out on her own time and on her own terms, is happy to dance along with her.
Bi Dorinda whose heart doesn’t care what your gender is, as long as you’re a good dancer.
Bi Dorinda who connects with Joaquin in Spain, and Gita in India, but whose heart ultimately lies at home, and respectfully parts ways when her flings with them are over.
Bi Dorinda who is in many ways unsure where she belongs, the white foster kid in a black foster family, the least outspoken of the Cheetah Girls, out of place in both straight and gay spaces, but finds herself despite and because of all of it, and realizes she doesn’t have to “fit in” to be part of something special, and her real friends will stick with her no matter what.
Trans Aqua who feels out of place in every way when she first moves to New York, feeling liberated but strangely empty about the fact that no one knows her old name from back home.
Trans Aqua who is awkward about asking for a taxi, knowing she’s not being assertive enough but worried about coming off “too masculine.”
Trans Aqua who learns the true meaning of Girl Power and that she can be anything she wants to be and doesn’t have to give up her sassy Southern roots to do it, who learns to be proud of where she came from, and how far she’s come to become who she is.
Queer Cheetah Girls who are each different stripes on the rainbow and support and love each other no matter what anyway.
Queer Cheetah Girls who may not always understand each other, but understand that they’re part of something bigger than themselves. Because no matter what anyone else thinks, they’re not “just friends,” they’re a family, and family is always there for each other.
Queer Cheetah Girls.
Let’s talk about Aqua from the Cheetah Girls: The darkest skin black girl was characterized as the bitchiest and the most annoying, why?
