So I’m like 99% sure everyone who comes in to get their water tested because their fish are dying don’t do water changes and most have heavily overstocked tanks. Literally every single time the ammonia is anywhere from .25 to like 6, they have 0 nitrites, and before the test is even finished nitrate is literally OFF THE FREAKING CHART. After 30 seconds of shaking the test it should not be blood red and still getting darker. One lady got mad because she lost 5 angelfish and it took both me and the owner like half an hour to explain that she has to do water changes every week at least, even in a 65 gallon. No. Exceptions. I told her she needs at least 25% every week after she gets the nitrates down. We told her 50% water changes every other day at least, every day would be better. I’m just going to assume now that everyone who comes in is not doing water changes no matter how much they say they do. One lady came in and has I guess been keeping fish in the same tank for like 2 years and it’s not even cycled... how is that even possible?????? She also said she has been doing water changes, first once a week, then every 3 days, then every day because that’s what Rose and I told her she had to do to fix the cloudiness... everything we said she goes “I do that.” Obviously not because you have a massive issue with everything except pH here...
