This isn't perfect - neither was my calligraphy when I first started here.
Precision stenciling with an old beat up pattern. Just wait until I bust out the new one.
Stencil making process.
This is the largest patterned stencil I’ve ever made. After spending approximately five hours drawing and ten hours of excising (to date), I am halfway there to creating this 15″ x 12″ monstrosity.
My goal is to use this stencil as 1/4th of the final piece. I will rotate and respray it four times to create a work that is 30″ x 24″. Hopefully. Then I will layer multiples of the same print and cut out sections from the top layer to reveal the bottom and create a pattern on top of the pattern. The last image is from my sketchbook and captures what I hope to create. Framing will be a nightmare. Stay tuned!
New Stencils, new patterns.
