In the protected warmth of a glasshouse a row of Arachis hypogaea (peanut, monkey nut, earth nut) had been planted. This leguminous plant is grown as an annual for its edible fruit known as the peanut. Once the flower is pollinated the flower stem elongates and pushes the ovary into the ground where the fruit develops.

Growing up, I always thought that peanuts came off of a tree like other nuts. But the truth is much cooler.

Also, peanuts, goobers and potatoes all grow in the ground, and they’re all great things to call other people.

This is a sad little story about my characters: Billy Mardess and Rachis. They were in a skyscraper with the rest of the crew, when a bomb explosion destroyed the building's foundations. Billy and Rachis survived but they were heavily injured and were beyond the reach of any help. P.S. I can't tell more now, but don't worry. Billy and Rachis are alive.
