hey im not sure if i'll go through with it, but regardless i'd like to have your permission to take your "story" that you wrote about the old woman and the boy and kind of expand it if i ever get the chance? i probably wouldn't publish it (if i'd ever come to finishing it) but i'd just like it for practice? because i'm god awful at coming up with my own ideas, but i think i could really branch out through ur story? idk if any of this makes sense omg i just thought it was hella cute
Sure! I've actually gotten a couple of requests for permission to make it into a video or something, so I think I'll just take this opportunity to give open permission to whoever wants to turn it into something else, with appropriate credit for inspiration, of course. And I hope whoever does do something based on it will let me know so I can check out the finished products and see all the wonderfully diverse directions people take the idea in. Because it's really more of a concept than a story, at this point, and one of my favorite things is seeing how many different ways an idea can be interpreted.
As for coming up with your own ideas, don't worry. Very few ideas spring up out of nothing. Most of mine (including this one, in fact) come from seeing or reading something else and thinking, "But what if THIS happened instead?" and exploring what happens from there. So maybe give that a try and see where it takes you!
