Every year on the anniversary of my joining FR (back on June 3, 2014), I like to have my progens lay another clutch together, since that was one of the very first things I ever did in-game, before I knew anything about how the colour ranges worked and whether or not they have good colours together (they really, really don’t, not unless you consider smooshing together pretty much every colour on the wheel to be a good set of ranges).
I was thinking I was going to have to miss out on it this year; I hadn’t been paying close enough attention to dates and had put Arak and his current mate Kara on the nest for a clutch back on the 19th, so he was still in cooldown. Then late last night I suddenly thought of the new Swiftbrood Boon thingamajigs. A quick check showed that Arak had 16 days left on cooldown, the boons take off half the maximum cooldown for that breed, so at a 30 day cooldown for nocturnes that would cut 15 days - exactly right for him to be RTB again today! And having my traditional anniversary clutch was well worth the 150 gems for the boon.
Arak and Anisette have come through like champs this year, laying a 5-egg nest together. Go team!
