@sarenraegalpaladin answering this here bc i might ramble lol
Arannis and Urianger used to be a thing. I think Urianger was the first real "relationship" he tried out after coming to Eorzea, Yda was a very casual thing during arr and neither of them put any labels on that.
Arannis, despite being a 7 foot tall beefcake with biceps the size of your head, is actually a bit soft spoken for a himbo. He was bullied a lot growing up by his extended family back in the Steppe for being "soft" and probably for his mom leaving the Steppe to be with his dad in Thavnair too (she moved away years before Arannis was born). I think him and Uri kinda bonded over that part of their past (being bullied for not conforming). Arannis, however, couldn't get with all of Urianger's secrecy and eventually broke it off; honesty is something his mom held in high regard and impressed upon him when he was young. Regardless of mistakes or wrong doings it was important to be honest, it's part of the reason I think he loves so easily, the impulse is just not there to hide his feelings.
I'd been going back on him and thinking about old stuff while I replay on new characters and I just "gosh these two were fucking cute together" and then I really got to thinking, with Urianger in 6.1 trying so hard for the loporrits, and that scene on the moon where you catch him sneaking away, watching him come face to face with Moen's parents, all the growth that man's had since; it was enough, I think, for Arannis to see as well. Plus the way Y'shtola talks to him during the game (paint me a picture with your words fucking WRECKED me my first playthrough), her little butt pat as she walks away from him to the WoL- I couldn't see her having an issue with it and of course Arannis would be honest and upfront about it.
so yes, long story short it's now arannis, y'shtola and urianger but it's very recent, like post 6.1 recent, like i just finally decided it on monday i think? lol
Love Languages
Left to right let's goooo
Sorrel
I don't find this surprising, while Sorrel might not talk a lot they do a lot better when talked to.
Frae
Frae's still such a baby some of this was hard, which is probably why it's a fairly fucking even split lol at least we got her top 3
A'miru
for some reason the results page format changed for A'miru and I don't know why but none of us should be surprised her #1 is touch and i love that second place is a dead even split for time and words lol
Arannis
yeah I can't explain the format change but here we are. He's a little horn dog but he really doesn't care about it that much in the long run, baby just wants to hang out.
Theja
Genuinely thought those bottom two were gonna be higher, but I guess it makes sense, she's very used to those bottom two from home and probably doesn't think much about them bc of it. I miss Theja so much.

Quiz is here
9. What chore does your OC hate the most? (for arannis)
I think, hm, he's such a good little bean lol. I think if he had to pick one he dislikes the most it'd probably be any cleaning or tidying of the books? Not because it's particularly hard just because it requires a lot of his brain to figure out where they need to go because Y'shtola and Urianger both organize their books differently so he'd have to figure out who's is who's first and there where it goes and he gets all worked up bc he doesn't want to put them in the wrong places. So he tends to just stack them on a table and let them sort them out. Other than that he's a bit of a busy body at home tbh, he can even cook. Kind of a househusband.
What did they think of Hydaelyn in the beginning? Did they change their mind about her since then?
oh boy, this is one I don't think about often lol let's figure this out
A'miru's not religious, she's not against it, she's just not found anything there in the past so I think the disembodied voice was a bit of a "I'm fully losing my mind, aren't I" in the beginning, not some higher calling, until Thancred introduced her to Minfilia. Then it was a lot of...I hesitate to say trepidation, she wasn't afraid for anything, but she was hesitant to put a lot of stock into it, it seemed to be a truthful situation but it was a lot of her hard work that went into it too and that's kind of where things sat for a long time in a state of 'I can neither prove or disprove this thing but things seem to be working out for the better with it'. A'miru's a very here and now kind of person, so lets just throw her back in time for a minute. Her connection with Venat was instant, it fully gave me an explanation for her to have taken the dancer class (mechanically she took it because it's a class I like to play, but it's a very not A'miru class at all) and she was kind of an instant momly figure for her; the vibes were entirely right right from the instant she dropped in while Hyth was rambling about sharks, like two peas in a pod, instant family. One of the things A'miru has the most issues with is losing people, in any manner; she does not handle it well ever. When she got back from Elpis, after a good long cry and snuggle with her bf and a nap, she was ready to break Fourchenault's entire face just to get down there and see her again bc omg that voice has been Venat all along and holy shit she felt bad for ever doubting it and then, well, she had to say goodbye to her again and again, did not handle it well at all. Luckily she had a lot on her plate to distract her at the time. After Ultima and knowing everyone's back down in the sea hanging out she's dealing a bit better than normal. It's more important to A'miru who Hydaelyn was before she was Hydaelyn and why she became Hydaelyn, than what Hydaelyn stood for in her time to A'miru now. She's gonna get G'raha to write a book one day.
Arannis, my little fate child, is a different, more simple salad lol. He was brought up in such a flurry of cultures he kind of very quickly learned to nod along and put his faith in "whoever was listening and able to respond" for a long time so holy shit was he surprised when she started actually responding. He wasn't in a position to be picky, she was gentle and seemed kind and to harbor no ill intent so he was on board pretty quickly. He got mildly worried when she got really quiet during Stormblood, but the anomaly had been her contact with him in the first place, so her getting quiet felt like how it'd been before, which didn't bother him too much; who was he to demand time with cosmic deities anyway, she probably had a good reason. I think the revelations during Shadowbringers was just a touch beyond Arannis' comprehension tbh, I don't think he fully understood the implications until he went to Elpis and saw it himself, very much a visual learner that one, you gotta draw it out for him, not explain with words- probably why he didn't mind the echo visions tbh. When he was in Elpis Venat felt like a sibling, something Arannis never really had but kind of always wanted bc everyone around him had siblings and he was the only only child. Arannis wasn't as eager to get down and see Hydaelyn, he deals with loss a lot better and he doesn't have the anxiety driven over protectiveness that A'miru struggles with. He wasn't upset he had to fight her and see her leave. This was it, this was the culmination of her work and it was her way of finally going back to the star, he fully got that and knew she'd be fine, almost felt honored to be a part of it even. But then he knew that if she'd done it, that they'd have to do it; they'd have to succeed and boy that pressure did something to him for a minute. I think Arannis cares a bit more about what Hydaelyn was in his time to people than A'miru does, I think he thinks about the people who are or were like him growing up and just praying to someone who bears no ill intent and will listen and how important that can be to a person.
While we were clearing old raids last night we were talking about fandom type shit. Ships and shit, and I don't remember why but I told them about Arannis' little sister Naevys and how she's, unlike Arannis, a bookish little cookie with a fucking raging crush on Alisaie (they're roughly the same age, Arannis is my oldest WoL and I consistently forget that) and everyone agreed that it was cute shit lol
17 Are they easily embarrassed?
and
18 What embarrasses them?
(for both Arannis and A'miru if you want? >.>)
I couldn't stop thinking about this while I was out today
I think her time during Ishgard during Heavensward washed a lot of embarrassment out of A'miru honestly, she was such a hot mess/train wreck almost the whole time (she vomited on Aymeric's shoes (sabatons?) one time in front of people, and like honestly, if you can get past that, you can get past most things). So no, not really anymore. She used to, as soon as Thancred noticed her catching feelings for G'raha during the Crystal Tower quests he bullied the shit out of her bc she'd get flustered so easily, but that always very quickly ended in flying daggers so he was chastised into stopping by Y'shtola lol
Now it's usually her accidentally embarrassing her boyfriends because she's basically lost any fucks she had through Endwalker. Or no, I tell lies, there is one thing she is mildly embarrassed about and it's her reading capability. She's very not good at it because she never went to any sort of actual school. She was an orphan and grew up on the streets so she learned just enough to get by for so long that by the time it would actually matter she was with the scions and between the twins and uri and y'shtola there was never a need for her to really...actually learn how to read. Also turns out she needed reading glasses. G'raha's helping her now and with glasses it's not nearly as hard as it used to be, but she does get a bit feisty if you bug her about it
Arannis has never been embarrassed a day in his life. Like maybe when he was real young and visiting family in the Steppe but that was always more of a "I do no fit in with this type of person (his cousin is Magnai lmao) and I'm treading unfamiliar ground right now" rather than actual embarrassment. You could walk in on him full ass naked and he wouldn't blink and just be like "oh, hey, how ya doin' today, how bout this rain, huh?" Like, he fully does not care.
I'm making Arannis' sister bc I need serotonin.
I've decided she's younger than him, outside of that i haven't decided much but it'll come as I make her
I wanna say she's twins age range, ish
