lol, imagine SQH with a baby, and he's not fond of babies of course, but it's a baby, you're supposed to be kind to them, they really can't help whatever they do, and look! This one is even smiling at him! Aiya, what a smart boy! He knows his daddy!

Anyway, SQH is dressed down, and holding the baby, yapping at them, telling them the secrets of the world and the bits of mythology that he never got to publish, explaining accounting-

And Mobei Jun is watching and trying to understand.

Is that Qinghua's baby? Who had a baby with Qinghua? When? Does Qinghua like babies? He didn't know Qinghua liked babies.

Well, he can't have too many babies, because who will look after Mobei Jun's future heirs then? And Qinghua will clearly have to look after them. He's already prepped and knows as much as all the demonic masters. Qinghua might as well keep his own children in the North too. They will be a bit useless like Qinghua, but clearly they will have his sense and they'd make excellent play mates for his own kids. And if they're staying here, Mobei Jun can train them so that they're not as weak as Qinghua. That would be a good way to reward Qinghua's loyalty.

Besides, they have enough rooms.

I keep thinking of a Shang Qinghua who is already married. Not to a man he particularly loves or likes, but someone bearable. (Man got wife plotted)

This happens early on in his acquaintanceship with Mobei Jun, and MBJ doesn't particularly care. But the more MBJ cares gradually, the tougher it is. SQH doesn't seem particularly happy with his husband, but he has no issues with him either. Qinghua runs the household just as effectively as he runs the Northern Palace or An Ding Peak. Sometimes he takes care of the paperwork for his home while taking a break from work at the Northern Palace. He doesn't know a lot about his husband's (an older cultivator) likes or dislikes, but he makes sure to keep a steady supply of his favourite food or wine to reach their home and he gets along well enough with his in laws. He always goes home for festivals when possible.

MBJ wanting to steal away SQH, but not wanting to be the sort of demon his father was. SQH has never reciprocated his Courting blows and while he may stare at Mobei Jun's chest a lot, he never, ever makes a move. Angst, drama, the works.

Obviously nothing is fleshed out yet, but this idea has been stuck in my mind.

MBJ's favourite of all his children would be the one who is most like Qinghua, with absolutely no shame. He would be bloody obvious about it.

I have always been a Liberal. Even with the India-Pakistan war, I have always scoffed at the people that tried to say that Islam is the problem and not just the extremist, terror cells in Pakistan. I wasn't excited about the idea of a war, but I saw it as the result of literally nothing else working out. I heard about Kashmiri Pandits, but I thought what happened to them was because of the militant groups coming in. I was sure that they'll be helped to go back home in time.

Now the Hindus in West Bengal are being slaughtered.

West Bengal has been one of the leading forces of the freedom struggle in our country. We have had brilliant philosophers, artists, dancers, poets, singers, screen play writers, writers everything from West Bengal. It is a state that produces brilliant intellectuals every year. Liberals and socialists. I don't know if you've ever talked to a Bengali, but they're the most capable, well spoken, talented people you will ever come across. It's the stronghold of the Shaktism sect in India. Ma Durga is revered the most in that land.

And now our people are being slaughtered. Hindus are being driven out of their land by the illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and certain extremist Muslims. It's like watching the Kashmiri Pandit exodus in real time. For centuries they've coexisted together with no issues, enriching the culture of Bengal, and suddenly brother has turned to foe. Houses and businesses are being burnt. They're looting people and issuing rape threats to women. People are being killed. They're throwing around bombs. They're attacking the police forces.

This is a land that has embraced refugees and shared everything with them. There was no reason to attack these people.

People had to cross rivers in boats to escape. 500 people had to leave their homes overnight because of the sudden extremists. Only Muslims were spared.

Locals say this has been going on since 2020.

Please, I'm begging with folded hands, keep the Bengali Hindus in your mind. Look at what they're facing. This is scary. If even the Liberal and safe Bengal can be turned overnight, no place is safe. What tf are people supposed to do?

There are rarely cases where a pair *not* having a height difference makes them hotter, but they exist.

Moshang (Mobei Jun/ Shang Qinghua, SVSSS)

I really do find them cooler when Qingua is almost equal to Mobei Jun in height. I like that their personalities and body language makes a bigger difference in the perceiver than any actual physical difference.

(I also like the idea of a Qinghua who's very done, irritated or angry at eye level with Mobei Jun-)

I know it's already the case canonically, but it's super fun when I see them like that in fics and fanart too.
