soft jam headcanons!!
- despite being taller, jay really likes being held by tim. he feels safe in his arms and it gives him a chance to be close to tim
- they’re always touching in one way or another, whether that’s holding hands, leaning against each other, tim pressing his hand to the small of jay’s back, hugging from behind, or resting their head/chin on the other’s shoulder, they’re practically inseparable
- sometimes jay will walk up to tim and gently butt his head into tim's shoulder or back, it's one of those affectionate little headbops. though on darker days, he'll just press his face into tim’s upper back and stand there quietly until tim turns around and hugs him
- they have so many nicknames for each other (both serious and joking)
- tim’s favourite is “[baby] bear” and jay’s is “lovebug”
- when they're resting together, they sometimes alternate on who's snuggling who. jay likes the tactile feel of tim's hair (it's really soft and nice, jay appreciates it a lot) and will run his finger's through tim's hair. since tim has the stim where he does the same sort of gentle combing-scratching, it lulls tim to sleep REALLY fast, practically knocks him out.
- jay is not above using that when tim's stressed in order to get him to sleep.
- after rough days, they like to lie down and take turns listening to each other's breathing and heartbeats. keeps them both grounded and content kind of like “i'm here, i can hear you, alive and well beneath me”
- jay has a habit of wordlessly climbing into tim’s lap when he gets upset, burrowing into his arms, and hiding his face in tim’s neck. tim will rub his back and murmur quiet words of support to him, and kiss away his tears if jay starts crying
