" something was amiss, gravely so, and had pulled her into this place, urged her to stay near as she healed where she could. he would not go without his children, nor usually, would they stray too far from him - and yet they'd been witnessed leaving, following another. it was not right, and so began a frantic search, calling out for him and growing more and more anxious when shouting was met with a most deafening silence.
then, there upon the ground was a sight that drew strangled, despairing cry from her lips before falling upon knees next to him. " adar - " soft sob as gentle hands lifted his head upon her lap, where it had rested so many a time, in a different life almost. blood coated robes, her skin as fingers hesitantly inspected every jagged edge of a staggering amount of wounds. whatever had transpired, the violence and cruelty of it was undeniable.
for a moment, all appeared lost, fearful all life had left him and rendered her useless. then, it was there - a smallest sliver of life lingering & it was all that was needed. faint tremble in her hands as one cradled his head, the other placed upon chest as deep breath was drawn. this was a risk. dangerous. exhaustion had settled within her already, having healed many a survivor before this. there was no saying what this would do to her, to undertake to save him when the limit was by now reached. still ... if not for him, then for who? who else would be worthy to receive this undying devotion?
blood stained her pale skin, dripping down her lip and chin even before the worst was felt. already it was too much to bear. " i am here, adar, i am here. come back to me, i beg you. " slight tremble in her hands turned into shaking as pain surged through her so violent, so agonising that for a moment she slumped over, biting lip until this too spilled red. eyesight blurred, yet gaze remained steadfast upon him, until at last relief upon the first shallow breath as damages were reversed. thank iluvatar, for this blessing at least. " it is me. be at ease. i have you. all shall be well, i promise. " weakened voice uttering reassurance, as price upon price was paid for his recovery, hold on him failing as black began to cloud her vision. she was going to succumb, this she knew - it did not stop her from pouring her life into him. whatever was required for him to live, he would be granted so, at any cost.
