Arc-V headcanon I guess... or I guess just character thoughts

Occasionally the girls will fuck with everyone by intentionally dressing to hide any of their differences. Sunglasses or contact lenses for their eyes, something covering their hair, and so forth, whether with a hat or wrapping a towel around their heads like they just came out of the bath. Sometimes they’ll even outright dress as each other on days like April Fools because it’s fun watching everyone try and pick up on the slightest personality ticks that they can’t hide.

The boys will try and pull off the same trick in retaliation but... they just aren’t good at it. Yuto is too stiff and awkward, Yuya keeps giggling, Yugo does bad impressions of everyone’s voice and gets mad when someone doesn’t call him Yugo, hence giving himself away, and Yuri is just... recognized on-sight by the girls. Something about his vibe just gives him away and totally not his eyebrows.

Yugo sometimes forgets that traffic laws are a thing. Because if this, when it actually comes to driving, Yuto takes over and does the driving for the team.

Yugo has definitely gotten tickets for speeding and running red lights.

when Yuuri and Selena finally have a chance to actually meet each other for real they end up hating each other’s guts almost immediately but not for the reason you’d expect

Okay you know what?

This has been on my mind for a while so here it goes.

One of my headcanons is that Yugo has ADHD, more specifically type 3: hyperactvity and innatention combined, why?:

Has a one-track mind, very driven by the one thing that occupies his mind at the moment but when another thing that in his book has equal importance it easily takes control of him.  (e.g. finding Rin, winning the FC, seeing Rin in Serena etc.)

Most of the time Yugo has screen-time he’s almost never still, either on his feet or on his d-wheel, he’s always moving, even when sitting he does a lot of gestures and mannerism.

Unless he’s set to work on said D-wheel of course, or when him and Yuzu where checking up what they knew about the whole thing, also when dueling of course, his attention is driven by his interests, common to be described as being “in the zone”.

Interrupts people while they’re talking, makes quick assumptions and it’s hard to make them reel back and see this (e.g. The whole Yugo =/= Yuugou thing, also not listening when Serena or Yuzu keeps saying she’s isn’t Rin)

The flashbacks of building the D-wheel imply that Yugo while being very good at being creative and solving technical issues with its performance, he needed Rin to keep him grounded on how exactly follow through with the building of it, this is also supported by him admitting he often needed Rin to help him keep focus on winning.

- Yuuya and Yuzu drag Reiji out of his glass tower as much as possible, whether for food dates or just to watch Action Duels all around Maiami City.

- Reiji gave Yuuya and Yuzu top-level access to most of LDS’ upper level so that they can visit him and/or Reira at any time. It took three months for Nakajima, LDS security, and the majority of the employees to get used to their presence (or rather, not chase them out of elevators or R&D with batons and tasers).

- Of the three of them, it’s Yuzu who gets most famous, and as a musician. She’s booked on tours half the year all over the world, and even into other dimensions thanks to her friends. While they don’t have a perfect record, Reiji and Yuuya attend as many of her concerts as possible.

- When cuddling on the couch or other surfaces, Yuuya is always in the middle. Around him, Yuzu and Reiji declare endless thumb wars.

- Over time, Yuzu and Yuuya gradually convince Reiji to enroll Reira in You Show so he can be around kids his age, and smile more naturally. (They don’t tell him that their master plan is to enroll him.)

- When the trio hang out or have on-the-town dates, Yoko and Shuzou will try to spend time with Himika, but it always ends in undignified fistfighting--at least until Leo and Yuusho come back.

- While all three are exceptionally talented at Pendulum summoning, they have yet to duel each other in a Battle Royale. For one, Reiji’s mission is to help his mates become more well-rounded with the other dueling styles. For another, after everything’s said and done, the style reminds them too much of the war. So for now they stick to tabletop, standard virtual reality and Action Duels--with some Steadfast thrown in to satisfy Gongenzaka.

I'd like to drop a concept by you that you've probably already discussed before, apologies ahead of time if that's the case The Yu-boys all have terrible eyesight. With the exception of Yugo, which I headcanon that he only really needs reading glasses. Even then, I feel like he insists they're not necessary and doesn't worry about them too much. - Yuya has contacts and he will occasionally sleep with them still in (which is 100% relatable since I'm very guilty of this)

- Yuri only has glasses due to a fear of things being anywhere near his eyes (resulting in it being a pain for anyone to take him to the eye doctor) - Yuto has the worst eyesight out of the boys, but refuses to get anything and embraces the sweet suffering (which is why the eggplant is in a constant state of squint)

omg referring back to refia’s post real quick, #7 on that list would totes explain all the confusion not only on yuto’s part regarding ruri vs yuzu, but in general the other yuu boys’ confusion regarding the bracelet girls in general (they confuse them for each other cuz they can’t fuckin see clearly) if in fact they all share yuto’s poor vision.

but anyway yesss yuya would definitely forget about taking his contacts out (not only that, he has a tendency of getting straight up KO’d after duels so it’s not like he even has a choice some times).

it would make sense that yugo doesn’t have as much vision problems since he grew up in the slums and probably didn’t have much access to computers or TVs as often as the others so he probably didn’t spend as much time as them messing up their vision staring at screens.

yuri probably likes his eyes way too much to get anything that would help him see better but sacrifice his looks. he probably does know that his eyes do the slit thingy so he doesn’t want anything like lens glares to get in the way of that since he always wants to intimidate his opponents. maybe someone (probably dennis) has actually noticed his vision needs help and lbr like academia could’ve probably offered to do something like laser/corrective eye surgery on him (since it’s the most convenient thing for soldiers in their line of work instead of glasses) but he refuses for the same reason.

also side note, maybe the entire arc v cast needs glasses. reiji, who does have glasses, seems to be the only one who never confuses any of the counterparts.

A superhero au?

So like… Arc V? Let’s do Arc-V. 

Yusho and Leo were the biggest superheroes of the city. They’re like, Superman and Batman level. 

Yusho’s identity was The Sky Magician. Leo was known as The Professor. (Charles Xavier shakes his bald head.) 

Eventually The Professor begun to do suspicious shit. Yusho gets suspicious. He investigates his partner, followed The Professor one day, and never returned home. ):

Cue Yuya devastated

Yuya grew up and, determined to find the truth behind his dad’s disappearance, took up the Sky Magician identity. Suddenly Sky Magician is back in the sky. 

He gets targeted. 

His identity was discovered by Reiji, CEO of Leo Corp. Cue panic. 

So apparently Reiji is the son of The Professor. Anyway he’s like “my father is behind an underground crime syndicate.” He gives Yuya the option to work with him or back off for his own safety. 

Yuya’s all “I wanna find dad.”

Yuya keep fighting crime in the daylight while Reiji investigate in the shadows and help protect him. 

Eventually Reiji forms the Lancers, a collection of heroes and vigilantes to counter the crime syndicate. 

Dennis is still the mole. Also he’s totally a Sky Magician wannabe. He’s actually one of the first to recognize that Yuya isn’t Yusho. (SHHHH the costume is really floofy so you can’t tell that Yuya is half Yusho’s size OKAY.) 

SERENA THE HACKER. (Ex-criminal.) 

Gongenzaka’s a police officer. 

Shun’s like… this other ex-criminal that Reiji blackmailed into working for them. So is Sora. Sora’s originally part of the Syndicate, then later they captured him and he’s currently doing Community Service (I guess?) with Serena and Shun. 

Yuzu got into this whole business to look out for Yuya isn’t that sweet. 

So basically, Yuya, Yuzu, Sawatari and Dennis are the actual costume heroes. They’re there to sort of attract attention and make a statement to counter the Syndicate. All the rest are the behind-the-scene team, working mostly in the dark to investigate the Syndicate and also protect them.
