ahhh the man of many secrets beloved Tomomi <3

literally everyone knows that he's secretly a softy that his entire "brave military soldier" is all an act, anyone that is suddenly brave enough to talk to him instantly is shocked at how actually soft he is - he's really not as scary as he likes to seem

that his phantom pains are a lot worse than he makes them seem - only those close to him known the signs when they're too much for him, otherwise he stubbornly ignores it

that he used to steal books from Trahearne when he was a sapling - its not really a secret but no one knows he used to do it (well maybe Trahearne knew and just didn't say) but he also doesn't care if anyone knew about it

Canach knows literally everything about him, if he has a secret Canach knows - Canach knows things that even Ashal doesn't know. They've had a lot of late night conversations where Tomomi will sleepily admit something or he'll just be cuddled up and need to tell someone and its usually Canach. They're each others safe spaces, they know everything about each other - Canach knows everything that happened during his time with Jormag, he won't tell anyone else about it

How he lost his eye, he hasn't told anyone. He's still too scared to admit that Reota overpowered him and nearly killed him. He lies and says that Jormag took it as a show of dominance, not that Reota was trying to kiss him and got violent

that he forgives Lethia for everything she did - for the fact that she shot him and paralyzed him, for the fact that she left him when he was a sapling for the nightmare court. Despite their rather abusive friendship, he still forgives her. He doesn't want anyone to know simply because they'd think he was insane but Lethia was a huge part of his life growing up even if they're completely different now. He'd still forgive her if she asked for it but he wouldn't accept her back into his life, he's stronger than that now

25. what does it take for your oc to trust someone?

Hmm, good question...Kerra’s pretty quick to trust because of her empathy; she can usually tell when someone’s lying or has bad intentions. So, on a basic surface level of trust, you’d need to have good vibes, basically (which is not the best way to say that but I can’t think of a better one asdjadf). To actually full-on trust you to the point where she’s telling you her secrets, she’d need to share enough experiences/conversations with you that she feels like she really knows you. This isn’t really a solid line, but generally, something about there!

26. do they have a lot of mood swings?

Not really, but if she’s in a place with a lot of people and a lot of conflicting emotions and her mind’s unshielded, it can make her own emotions swing and get lost in the flood. Luckily, that’s rare. Unluckily, she mainly drops her shields when she’s too emotionally exhausted/hurt/distraught to keep them up*, and those tend to be really bad times to have an influx of other peoples’ emotions in your brain.

*Not including the times when she’s doing it deliberately. For me rambling about how Kerra’s power works, check out this thing!

Dear Nisha,

I hope you did not forget that I promised to write you letters. This is the first one I managed to send; the Priory informed us of the courier system but figuring it out in practice is more difficult than I’d anticipated.

I have not traveled very far yet, but Lion’s Arch is…I suppose “incredible” might be a good word for it. When we traveled through it with Pliarr, we didn’t stay long, but I’ve been here a few days now. Do you remember the celebrations in Maguuma, in the center of our village? Lion’s Arch feels like that, but all the time and more chaotic. I’m not sure it’s to my liking, but it’s most certainly fascinating.

I will be in Applenook Hamlet for a few days if you wish to send a response. You may not believe me, but I miss you. I’m sorry that I could not stay.

Dear Nisha,

Would you mind asking the Priory to invent waterproof paper? Or, if they have already, could you send me some? Attempting to write you a letter in a rainstorm is giving me even more of a headache than usual.

One might also think it would be more difficult for centaurs to set these humans’ villages on fire when there’s rain involved, but they are doing their best to prove me wrong. Part of me is curious why they are so violent, but the part of me that is treating the injuries they leave behind could not care less.

It's getting late here, so I should sleep. I hope you’re getting enough rest—if you must stay up later than I am, at least let yourself wake up later. You deserve a break, Nish.

Dear Nisha,

I thought Gixx had taught me all possible insults other races had for sylvari, but I have been proven wrong by a particular very drunk individual in a tavern here in Claypool. (I suppose it’s possible that humans are simply more creative than asura, but please don’t tell him that.)

I know you’ll worry, but please don’t. His superior officer put a stop to the situation before it could escalate beyond insults. Aside from this incident, Queensdale is quite nice, though nothing like Maguuma.

Have you been getting my letters? Please send me a message, even a short one, if you have—to Claypool or Overlake Haven (I’ll be there soon). I told you not to worry, but I am worried for you.

Dear Nisha,

This is my first day in Caledon. The other sylvari seem kind, though (unsurprisingly) they are not all like Sieran. I thought you might be happy to know that. They were a bit shocked when I told them about you—apparently, we (as twins) are somewhat rare.

I am choosing to believe that you’re all right. When you’re ready to talk to me again, I’ll be here. I may be in a different city by then, but I’ll be waiting for your letters.

1) Are they woodier or leafier? Succulent, deciduous, evergreen?

Definitely leafier! I’m “cheating” a bit because this is technically question 2 and not question 1, but (as of me making her moodboard, at least) Kerra’s based off of this plant:

It’s called a Persian shield plant, and they grow in tropical environments. They’re perennial, but she keeps her leaves year-round, though she has to shield them in particularly sunny/hot or cold environments. And the leaves seen above are a decent approximation of what Kerra’s hair leaves/ferns look like!

19) least favorite food?

I was tempted to say the toxin-cured hog, but I think that’s everyone’s least favorite food asldjfasdf (if it even qualifies as “food” lol). Her least favorite food would probably be gelatinous ooze custard--the taste isn’t always horrible, but the texture is just not something she particularly cares for. (And yes, this is coming from someone who’s eaten much weirder things--she just doesn’t like the jello-custard at all alsdjfadf.)
