Done during a sick day recovering off antibiotic allergic reaction. Attempted archeotheriun and took some critiques and looks at skulls and other skulls of other animals to get better ideas for this one.
Used a lot of peccary photos and aardvark/hippo/wolf skulls to get an idea for the nose. Wish there were more studies on animal nose outer cartilage.
Hope y’all like this attempt, and included the male Archeotheriun specimen I used for this reconstruction.
Maybe one day I’ll sculpt the head to get a better idea of how to deal with the juggal attaching to the jaw better.
The idea I got was the seemed like an oversized Javelina with a weird nose.
The knobs one the bottom jaw reminded me of giraffe horn knobs and peccary/swine tend to have thicker beards or tufts of fur to help with blows and maybe have scent glands or display for males. After comparing with several skulls fur tufts seemed to make the most sense.
