Archtober 2022 Day 2
Millennium
I hope my bones wither
and turn into dust
that breeds flora which pull sheets of
greenery over our fallen empires
taking back into the earth
the dust from whence it all came.
I hope my Mother
sings Her adamic lullabies
over the slumbering Lion and Lamb as
stars blink in morse
years too late to say goodbye to the
humans who fought themselves to extinction.
I hope that in the end
it was all worth the agony
and the ecstacy of being human
as the years erode our memory
leaving nothing but bruises
and heartfelt efforts of Love
Archtober day 4–Womb
It’s empty.
I had a dream I was nine months pregnant.
The next Virgin Mary I guess, and
Suddenly on the floor of the mall I was giving birth
Crying for a hospital or a doctor or any help at all.
It might always be empty.
And all my family watched. And so I gave birth there on the mall floor, and I scooped my baby up in my arms, and it was beautiful.
And it was mine.
And it was turning blue.
I cried for an ambulance, or a doctor, or any help at all.
The price to fill it is too high.
So I gave my baby cpr. Breathing life into its tiny body, desperately crying as I poured myself
Into my child.
And after eternity,
It took a breath.
And then another.
And I cried. And I held my baby, and I was terrified to be a single mother.
And then I woke up.
And my baby died.
And my womb is empty. And it may always be empty. And if I were to fill it, the faceless man in my future plans would have to gain a face, and a name, and a dick, to go with me, and marry me, and be inside me, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be ready for him to gain a face and a personality and a place in my life.
So my womb remains empty. And my baby remains a dream.
It's almost Archtober again!
What's Archtober? It's this:
A bunch of prompts for the month of October made by the Mormon art collective, The ARCH-HIVE.
The prompts can be done every day or you can combine them and do one every other day. They don't have to be visual art either. Poetry, short stories, there's even a guy who just uses the prompts to show pictures and talk about one particular mountain. Haven't seen anyone make memes for the whole month yet, but that could be you!
Increase the body of Mormon arts!
Have fun!
Confuse the architects who also use the Archtober hashtag!
Ok thanks to @brothermouse ‘s awesome art I learned about archtober and it seems cool as heck and I wanna participate!!!! Anyways I can’t draw but I can do poetry so yee haw
Oct 3–Unearthly
At what point do I put off the “natural man” too much
And cease to be human?
When striving not to be “of the world”
Will I notice I’m no longer in it?
I sing “more holiness give me” and pray
There’s something left of me to be given.
And these fears are unfounded. I’m sure—and yet I worry one day
I’ll be more Saint than Sister.
Archtober 2022 Day 1
Forsaken
even when
the gyre turns
and churns
and the falcon
flew too far
that second revelation
that lion trudging through the sand
that ceremony gasping
are not forsaken
and though it feels to be
neither are we
