More favorite things about BYU:
The Campus Meatball of unknown use
We need to draw chalk circles around the statue of Maeser to seal him for another hundred years
Hating the MARB
Ducks everywhere
Random blizzards/hailstorms, but literally no one reacts
The picture of the angel comforting a weeping Jesus on the stairs of the Testing Center

CHOCOLATE MILK ‼️🗣️🔥
It gets 0.01 degrees warmer and suddenly every piece of grass is covered in people enjoying the "fine weather"
Nearly every room has a piano (and people are always playing them really well)
Even if they demolished the MARB you'd still have classes scheduled there
"I'm carrying my books in my arms... as the prophecy foretold"
The Caffeine Cave
The secret gay council (you think I'm joking, but I'm Literally Not)
All the attempts to get STEM majors to eat and get sunlight
The JKB (hallways, half floors, flat ramps that lead from the 3rd to the 4th floor, hidden rooms, THE POLICE STATION, Mordor, the depths, tech support???, how it's literally a pocket dimension, the portal to the basement of the MARB, etc)
Cursing that one guy who had a vision of BYU being on Temple Hill while suffering on the stairs
The Holy War
You can only see the stairs to the basement of the MARB if you have witnessed death
The hordes travelling to the Marriott every Tuesday
Everything being closed Tuesdays at 11
Everything about the bell tower

Every year they attempt to demolish the MARB but they accidentally hit a different building
The library at approximately 11:55 pm
"Don't rush the field!" *Everyone rushes the field including President Reese who proceeds to crowd surf on said field*
Every test is open Holy Ghost if you can get them to tell you the answers
"Sup girlies, you would not be-LEIVE the weekend I just had."

Oaks is flawed, and it’s a good thing
Hear me out. President Oaks has said some controversial things, some things that are probably more opinion than doctrine, some things that cause hurt feelings and harmful reactions. He has a traumatic past, and traditional values, and his old-fashioned mindset combined with his negative experiences means that certain things he says and thinks are not necessarily adapted well to modern ideas and needs. But consider this: What would happen if every prophet was perfect? What issues would arise if we never disagreed with his philosophies?
In the church, we are taught to sustain our leaders and to not speak ill of them. Now, let us make an important distinction: openly disagreeing with somebody and speaking ill of them are two different things. One can find Oaks’ statements uncomfortable without criticizing his identity as a spiritual person who has seen many things in his lifetime and is doing his best to follow God’s teachings.
It is of my opinion, in fact, that it is good to sometimes question and disagree with what our leaders say, in the context of the church or in any other organized setting. To agree with everything is to blindly believe, which is no better than blind disbelief.
Along with that, it’s important that we neither see our prophets as perfect, nor completely incompetent. While prophets are called of God, they are human, and because God values agency, He lets even His chosen mouthpieces speak and act for themselves sometimes. If things go too far, He will step in, but He lets us make mistakes so we can learn and correct them later.
Oaks’ flaws are proof of two things: One, that God trusts us, all of us, to exercise our agency and form our own opinions while still obeying His commandments, and two, that He wants us to trust that He has everything under control. Oaks was called of God. He was sustained as a prophet. God has a plan for us, and I believe He will use Oaks to accomplish whatever those are. We can disagree, but I don’t doubt that God knows what he’s doing.
It’s better to have a human, flawed prophet, than no prophet at all.
We had a temple trip for baptisms today, so I think it's a good time to introduce you to...
Temple Cat!!! aka T.C. The people who work at the Fresno CA temple take care of him, and he has a chip, so we know where he is. We love him dearly <3
