Today we celebrate what is both the largest bear and largest land carnivore in the world, the polar bear. They also occasionally enjoy a refreshing Icee or Coca-Cola, or so I've heard.
Really?
is "cooler" really the best term for when the temp goes from -8°F down to -10°F? wouldn't something like "even worse" be more apt?
also, WTF with the high being just a couple dashes? are they saying, "It's just not right to call negative degrees a 'high' temp"?

Baby, it’s the polar vortex
Much as one day of falling stocks doesn't portend a recession, 48 hours of record-setting cold doesn't negate decades of accumulating greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. This frigid outbreak (to be followed by a rapid weekend warmup) isn't a refutation of global warming; it's a harbinger of weather extremes to come. Our view. Other views.
