Areius truly had no idea what to do. He had not slept in days, ever since that missive was placed into his hands.
His family name slandered. His wife a traitor. Because of her, his entire family would be deemed traitors, including himself. She was not responding to his letters, nor had he heard from anyone else. Araelius, Geldacar, Armad. No one. All that he knew was that his home was filled with lies and deceit… and it was all Jossetta’s fault.
The unbreakable Areius Ironborne was breaking.
Before taking his actions any further, the Duke made sure to write her one letter before the final decree.
A certain situation has come to my attention, one that I am not proud of. Nor would I assume you would be. A dear friend of ours has shown me a grave mistake that you have made. One that could be the end of our family as we know it. Jossetta, my love. My life. Please, for the sake of our family, our name, and our honor respond to me. Tell me that what I believe is happening is not. Show me that I am too quick to assume and that I am in the wrong. That is all that I ask of you.
If I am wrong? Cast this man from our home, turn him over to those who would put him in his rightful place. The stockades. He does not belong in Ironwrath, nor Blackmarsh, or any other lands that are under our family’s name. My family’s name. Warlund Blackfyre is a traitor to the Crown, to the Kingdom of Stormwind, and to the Alliance as a whole.
It pains me to write to you like this, in such a presumptuous and demanding way. But I must do what I must do, for the sake of our home, for the sake of our family. You know well that I would do whatever I must to make sure you and the children are safe.
The Commander handed the letter off to Jon, “Thank you, my boy.” he said quietly, “..if nothing comes in a day, be prepared for two more to deliver.” It was clear how uneasy the nobleman was, and Jon could see it.
Jon nodded as he studied the Lord. It was obvious that he wanted to say something, but he wouldn’t.
Just as fast as he entered, he was gone. Off to finish the task at hand.
