Who is Kartirius Bellatrine?
Kartirius Bellatrine is a young, yet well-experienced paladin in service to the Grand Alliance. Just over twenty-three years of age, he has participated in multiple campaigns against undead, horde, and Legion forces since he was fifteen. Under these eight years, he has grown substantially under the tutelage of House Haethon (now Redsteel), and a holy order known as the Order of the Golden Law.
Shortly after the Golden Law’s disappearance, he went on to participate in Alliance operations on the Broken Isles. Fighting in the final battle in the Tomb of Sargeras, the wounds he had sustained in battle forced him to be shipped back to Stormwind and recover as the war on Argus reached it’s conclusion.
Now in the service of Lady Loala Addington and the Duchy of Fairhaven, Kartirius hopes to serve and create a better future.
Appearance: Slightly shorter for his age, Kartirius Bellatrine still remains at the height of his maturity. A staunch, oblong chin shaped smoothly underneath thick facial hair running across both ends of his face. If he were to shave, one could clearly see the youthful features pop out in front of them…and notice a variety of scars that are hidden underneath his rugged appearance.
In civilian clothing, Kartirius’ body presses against linens with deep, muscular lines. His legs and his back, particularly, show a great deal of effort put into his calves and his back muscles–likely from exertion of armor and equipment. Not that other parts of his body are lacking, of course.
Scars: It’s clear that he’s seen battle. His chest is marred in fel-spocked burns, dark spots on his chest that look as if the flesh had been blackened; never to return to it’s former luster.
On the right side of his cheek, a tender pocket of skin looks new…for one to press on it, they could feel the jaw muscles. Scratches and cuts across parts of his face, and a massive gash running down the center of his chest. The impact appeared to be from a pointy, blade-like object. At least it didn’t come out from the other side.
Equipment: A well-equipped paladin is a safe paladin!
Truesilver Armor: An old forging technique carried on from his days in the Golden Law, Kartirius requests his armor to be made up of Truegold and Truesilver ore. Having this magic-attuned metal to be enchanted to amplify light-based abilities, the truegold is forged into the core pieces of the armor; while the truesilver acts as a protective exoskeleton. For the interest of representing Fairhaven, his armor has been dyed and colored to appear a deep lavender. Kartirius is often always seen wearing the laurel sigil of the Addingtons across a tabard thrown onto his chestplate.
Weapons: Kartirius has been seen utilizing several weapons. First, a two handed bastard sword–enlaid with a purple leather hit and a truegold pommel. Second, a circular shield made up of three seperate semi-circles, with gaps open in between for locking weapons in combat. Alongside this shield came a hand-sized warhammer, a simple steel hammer with a large strap underneath. Regardless of which he brings to a battle, a dagger always resides in his belt–for emergencies.
Items: Always carrying a libram strapped to his belt, a deck of Hearthstone, and a small pack of traveling supplies.
What discernable traits does Kartirius have?
Kartirius is not a perfect soldier, and neither is he a perfect man. He always attempts to pursue the Three Virtues as modestly as he can. Often displaying great Respect and Compassion for others, but restraining his passion and Tenacity in combat and stressful situations. It has left him a humble, brave man.
But it has also left him quite shattered as a person. War and grief has chased him for eight years, suffocating much of the innocence inside him. Though Kartirius is brave in battle, on the onset of meeting him he could perceive as tightly-wound, overly polite, perhaps neurotic at times. Despite his altruism, chivalry and precociousness for the Light’s service…his experiences have left him with little but the appearance of goodwill.
The Light has asked so much of him…and now there is little left.
