Oh MY - finally, this beautiful 10th Anniversary Edition of Aristotle & Dante Discover The Secrets Of the Universe is IN MY HANDS! It was a total joy to work on this book, and an amazing thing to be secretly creating artwork for it alongside the film titles which both happened at the same time - around this time last year (things move slowly in the worlds of both moviemaking and publishing!) New illustration and titling, special inked endpapers, printed page edges, gold and turquoise foil spot varnish and debasing all on one cover? Just how many gorgeous finishes can you throw at one book?? Tell you what though - this book deserves it. Art by me, art direction for Simon & Schuster by Chloe Foglia and photograph of the pickup under the sky by Mark Brabant.

My contribution for @rainbowcratebookbox October’s photo challenge. These will include spoilers for October’s box. This was an absolutely amazing box. I know it’s only my second box from them, but it’s my favorite so far. Rainbowcrate is a YA LGBTQ+ book box subscription, the only of it’s kind. Each month, they include an LGBTQ+ book and items based off of other LGBTQ+ books and fandoms, including a monthly magnet. I don’t have much, so these pictures were pretty simple. This box was great for many reasons. I loved the red crinkles for this box. It’s also funny because I’ve been wanting a puzzle recently, and it just so happened that this box included one. I’m not the greatest at puzzles tho, so I was struggling. Lol. It’s also funny that I read Aristotle and Dante and Felix Ever After for my Queer YA Lit class this semester. So that just added to my experience of this box. The mug warmer and mug were absolutely amazing and I was so pleasantly surprised when I saw them in the box. I mixed the orange crinkles from September’s box with the red from October’s for the mug because it matched so well with the Darius the Great cover, and it gives almost a fiery look to Girls of Paper and Fire. I pulled out the fake flowers for the Felix Ever After mug warmer, but I loved how the purple and blue flowers contrast against the GOPAF and GOSAS book covers. I was also hoping for more wlw items this month, and so October’s magnet made me happy. And now it’s with my collection of Rainbowcrate magnets since I found someone willing to giveaway the first three. Lol. And now they’re holding the gaze and art print. October’s graphic novel has such beautiful art, and the art print that goes with it is stunning. I’m obsessed with the book shaped flash drive with art from the book as well. The ebook for this box is Lore and Lust by Karla Nikole (a pretty epic queer vampire story). When the Ari and Dante movie comes out I want to be crying just by the cinematics alone. I’m ready to see those shots of birds flying in v-formation through the sky and worn shoes discarded on the side of the road and to start tearing up at the gorgeousness of those simple little things.
